    I'm going to start

Turk64, Right now, there are a lot of expediting companies not putting cargo vans on. Also, since you live in Canada, you probably should start with the Canadian based carriers or companies that can lease on Canadian drivers. Try TST, Thompson Emergency, CTX and search this site for all the...

    just my opinion

New Adventure, Sounds like you would be a good catch for any expediting company. Call around and find out who requires and who doesn't require haz or Canadian coverage. As far as training your wife for a class b cdl, most companies ar o.k with that also. I do also believe there are a few...

When a Panther Recruiter says $140,000 a year what

RE: When a Panther Recruiter says $140,000 a year Mileater, A good figure to use would be 40%. This would normally cover your insurance portion, fuel and whatever truck payment you may have. If you do pay cash and avoid the monthly truck payment, this would be a very safe figure for you to...

Busin4fun, Check with the companies that you are interested in. Most of us would not have a problem with a 1999 or 2000 straight truck. Living in the San Antonio area isn't a problem because you will be traveling over the road. I would just plan on staying out a couple weeks at a time...

    fleet owners

Reddog, All that has been said is true. I would check the eo classifieds and contact as many companies as you have time for. If you call Tri-State, you can put yourself on our list and our fleet owners would contact you when they have availabilities. Good luck, ABC

    What's a B/Van load?

Tri-States definition of a "B" load would be something that can fit in 12' of space or smaller and weighs less than 2,000 lbs. Also, if a dock high unit is needed, it would kick it into a "C" category. Hope this helps also. ABC

    working part time

Chaz, That is correct. There would be fees every month whether you were in service or not. Most carriers have some sort of charges for qualcom and of course, the truck still has to carry insurance even sitting in the driveway. ABC

    working part time

Huntn1, Best way to find out is call the companies and ask them directly. Have that be your first question. I don't really consider that part time if you were to work 2 on and 2 off or 4 on and 4 off. The longer you can string days together, usually means the more likelihood you will make...

    getting Started in Expediting.

dcrone336, Glad you are interested in the program. Simply put, Tri- State needs teams and will pay to get them. Bobby from FYDA was the guy who came up with the idea, so we went with it. We will pay $1,000/mo to the finance company to go towards your truck payment. It definitely helps...
