    The Big Lie

Today I responded to a Facebook post by Load 1. They were showcasing their new company trucks and trailers. Personally, I would never lease a truck to any company that has their own trucks; the reasons should be obvious. That is one thing that moved me toward being an independent. Load 1 invited...

My Boat Here In El Nido, Palawan, Philippines

A man who recently passed away shared his knowledge with me and helped me to obtain my financial goals. We shared many learned aspects of Expediting and our efforts paid great dividends. I dedicate this boat in memory of 60mph.

Again, thank you to the man who taught me how to make 6 figures as an Expediter and get out of the snow! This is now my home. Jimmy Buffet, eat your heart out. Hahahaha.

    D.o.t.

I now live on the island of Palawan in El Nido. Palawan is the most western island in the Philippines. I took this picture from my terrace. Imagine if the D.O.T. saw this going down I-75. Oh, and the the helpers ride on top until the final destination.

    60 mph

To my best friend: Seeds brought here from Cuba by Spaniards some 200 years ago. Coronas for less than $1.00 per stick. Very rich, yet smooth and mild.

    Rev's New Ride

Work on the boat is progressing slowly. The rain was a problem and finding a motor was a little tricky. And nobody is in a hurry here on Palawan. That is me walking on the beach in El Nido looking at other boats and trying to get some ideas for my final design. Later! Wishing...

    Living In The Philippines

I arrived here on 04/08/2011. The internet from the apartment is a little slow at times. So please bear with me as I post. Stayed two days at Deep Forest Inn upon arrival. Then a few days at the apartment before going to El Nido. Wow! What a wild ride. 12 people in a Nissan...

101 Ways To Double Your Income

Another truck sold and a new chapter begins. On April 8th I will board a plane headed for Puerto Princesa in the Philippines. God has truly blessed and last year I generated more income than in the previous two years combined; therefore, I have reached a plateau that will allow me to retire a...

    Per diem days

Question: I pick up a load on Monday at 6 am and deliver the same day at 5 pm (not in my home area). Then I sit empty waiting in the truck on freight for the next 5 days. Can I claim all of the days both travel and waiting days (6 total) as per diem days?

    Who is slow

That post on the general forum got me to thinking. I went from New Orleans to Houston on Friday. That route is very level with few inclines. The wind was minimal and I drove it at 55mph. My average fuel economy at 63mph had been 18.3mpg over this same route, but slowing down to 55mph...

    Happy New Year

Thank you to all who have inquired as to my status. I am well. Staying busy during Spring, Summer and Fall. Hiding out during the Winter. Particularly fond of Islamorda Key and south Florida; although Miami set a record low in November. Found myself in Louisiana and Texas since the 2nd...

Per Diem For Schedule C Filers

Hi Frank, I was reading some posts on a tax forum regarding the per diem deduction for an owner/operator and someone indicated that you have to take the actual expenses if filing a Schedule C. Is that correct? Best regards, David

    You Gotta Love (NOT) Advertising

Taken verbatim from the Pilot/Flying J brochure: You drive hard, work hard. You're a pro. It's payback time! http://www.pilotflyingj.com/Documents/driver%20payback%20brochure.pdf How appropriate! Every expediter who happens to own a gas powered truck is going to get a payback from...

    Pleasant Change

There are a lot of reservation casino's up here in the Northwest. For less money than you would spend at a truck stop, I had a delicious, quality breakfast. My omlet was made to order. Yum a shrimp and veggie omlet. Plus every other imaginable breakfst food. All the cranberry juice I wanted...
