Tax Day

April 15th became the official tax day in 1955 being changed from March 15th.  As years have gone by April 15th seems to be a guideline as the day might fall on a weekend or we have Covid and nothing stays the same.

This year I do not have a clue when some taxes or due or maybe even some not due.  For me I just want them done and paid so I can move on.

Have you ever thought of how cheap any item would be if there were not any taxes?  Every widget we buy had taxes paid on each of the parts in the widget, taxes on how the widget was made, and then we pay taxes when we buy it.  If the widget is big we pay taxes on the item when we sell it.

If we did not pay taxes where would we be?  That is hard to imagine but then I start thinking of the Boston Tea Party.
