When we were first on the road full time my bladder suffered major abuse.   Many of our customers would not allow drivers to use the restrooms and to be truthful there were many places where I did not want to use their restroom.

One fateful day at one of the terminals for the large carrier Bob was driving for I met a lady who had been driving for years.  She was adamant that we leave immediately and get a port-a-potty before I ended up like her.   She said she had ruined her bladder to the point that when she got out of the drivers seat she would wet her pants.   She put a great fear in me and off we went to the store.

There are many health risks associated with holding your urine as this can become a breeding ground for bacteria, infections, and can spread to the kidneys causing even more problems.   Holding back and waiting for the next rest area, truck stop, or the next convenient place to stop can cause the bladder to stretch and it will no longer send signals it is time to go.

Immediately this little gem became a life saver and we have not been without one since.   Our first addition did not have a cubbyhole to hide in so I made a skirt and a covering for the top and most people had no clue what they were sitting on while they visited.

Now we have a cubbyhole and Bob made a pull out slide for the throne and that works like a charm.   What is even better in this truck is that there is an outside door for ease of dumping the cassette.

We will never be without one in our truck and to this day neither of us has had problems with our bladders or any infections.
