Regular Customers

This has been a week of short runs.. and last night was no exception. I had a run to Southern Ohio, to a customer I've been to several times. Also, I've travelled the roads many times in my life, as we have family in the area. It was nice to just relax and drive a familiar route, not worrying about making sure I checked directions, planned my route, etc. It was just a small load once again, but the customer seemed kind of confused as to why it was there! Oh well, we just deliver what we're told.

After delivery, I just took my time leaving the area.  On the way back, I came thru New Boston, Portsmouth and Lucasville.  As a child, I spent a lot of time in those towns.. had Aunts in all of them. Felt kinda like going home.  It's funny, so much as changed.. lots' of new businesses, buildings, restaurants, etc.. but driving thru the old neighborhood of of Gallia St where my Aunt lived.. wow.. it still looks the same as it did 30 years ago. Serious nostalgia rush!

Today we're attending a family function, so I'm out of service for a few hours.. I'm the only van in the area, so there's a good chance I could get offered a weekend run...I'd hate to miss a good run, but family has to come first sometimes!  That's one of the reason's I'm in this business. I love having the flexibility to take good runs.. but take time off when I need... or just want to.. without some boss goin "Dale... you HAVE to come in!"
