barry has told everyone that the "public" government run health plan is not a danger to the "Private" insurance companies....or "employer" insurance plans...he has said this for the last 2 months, he told the AMA that private insurance was safe, that the public plan was to be trusted as "another" option....

It's about money my friend...The insurance companies hold the cards....have you ever heard the expression "follow the money"? Who do you think runs the politicians?? Why do you think Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are friends to the banking industry? Money rules the world. Cash is King...They'll do what the money tells them to do.

Yep that may be true to a point but I want it to be. I do not want an insurance company to be anything but rich.

Let's not forget that many of them operate under the not for profit form, like BCBS of Michigan which is not a profit corporation.

AND

Let's not forget that insurance companies are highly regulated, they don't run freely at all and anyone who says they are the problem needs to look at the regulators - the states. I can not go to Ohio for my health care insurance because of Michigan's laws that prevent me. The feds don't say that every person of every state needs to confine themselves to that state for insurance, the state does.

Medicare and Medicaid are so tied up within the insurance industry in many ways and is THE reason that this is an issue in Washington. The feds want to reduce the cost but see that there is too much free market to prevent them from controlling cost. I would rather see them cut medicare and medicaid programs and put a lot more back into the private insurance hands than to continue to pay for people who can afford medical insurance to be part of these federal programs.

State mandates are another real problem, paying for tattoo removal (one example) is not something any insurance company should pay for, same with Hair transplants for bald men (another example), these things are not and should not be part of the insurance to keep one well.

I was always thinking but never typed..Where are the voices of the big insurers on this issue..They are a huge power and lobby but narry a pip....I think it strange they are so quiet and everything to lose.

Do you think OBama is just going thru the motions to try and get healthcare thru knowing for real it won't happen because now the wild card pops up..Insurers and he can blame them for not making good on an election promise?

Take a look at the "CZARS" They are just another end around the Constitution to insure that the Executive branch and NOT the Legislature controls things. That IS what he want for health care as well. IF he cannot get it through Congress watch for some kind of treaty to take it out of their hands, much like he is trying with gun control. I don't remember, but I do know that any treaty can not nullify any rights in our Constitution, it only effects the laws that are passed by the congress and in many cases the states.

I watched today as the primaries of Detroit was being reported. The reporter refused to say who is more popular and other details but the people she interviewed were either out of touch with reality or really angry with every politician. One old lady made the comment that her race had fought for civil rights and freedom only to end up being slaves to the politicians.

Not Happen? The CZARS HAVE happened!! The "CAR CZAR" is "telling" GM where to build small cars, like Lake Orian, MI. That plant was susposed to close. It SHOULD be closed. The "CAR CZAR" is envolved in deciding WHAT cars GM should build. How much auto execs can earn. This IS by definition "Fascism" Sorry OVM, I am NOT jazzed up, this is FAR too REAL!!
