You hijack the thread about Palin, NOW you want to talk about who to vote for???

Here's what I think... does anyone know of a good restaurant near Hesperia, CA? I'm getting tired of Wendy's. I can't believe a double with cheese is $4!!! At least their chicken nuggets are still .99.

Whataya think about Brady being out for the year? Oops!

Do you think I should trade in my truck for a van, and sell ice cream?

How's THAT for hijacking? ;) :D

T-hawk the double stack "glorified double cheese burger" should be .99 seen about 20 commercials over the last 4 days from wendy's offering that. Also the crispy chicken and the jr. bacon should only be .99 also. Talk about getting ripped on prices I paid 5.00 for a sausage egg and cheese sandwich this morning and 2.99 for a gallon of water here in canaan,ny at the citgo @ exit 3b. Oh and don't forget about there crazy high taxes here to. Glad I don't smoke cigs, the usa golds were 7.59 + tax.:eek:

My vote is for NONE OF THE ABOVE. The really good people wouldn`t think of dragging their family through what the Palin family is going through.

Colin Powell is a perfect example of a person looking at the job and saying NO THANKS>

Beemer I figured you and Obama would be perfect for each other. Anti-Semiticly speaking of course.

The bigger question, sadly as usual, is who to vote against. There's really nobody to vote for although Palin comes closer than the rest. I'll be voting against Obama Biden.

Glad Powell is not running, we don't need another anti-gun, anti-hunting liberal in the race. We already have 2.5 of them. He is into raising taxes too. Let me and Leo run the place, we can really straighten it out!!!!!!!!! I Garoontee you would pay FAR less taxes and have better roads to work on!!! Sell Ice Cream in Detroit? On the streets? Are you nuts? You would be mugged or dead in 5 minutes!!!! The blonde airhead? Just what we need. Another useless twit. Twits breathing are one of the main causes of air polution. Layoutshooter

Yea Layout, when was the last time you saw an ice cream place in the city?

I think the last Dairy Queen closed down in 1979.

Yes I can see Beemer trying to drive is ice cream truck down Greiner just off of Hoover, and that is the good part of the city.

His truck would have to have bullet proof glass, 1/2" steel armor plating and run flat tires which may help him get out if they don't hit him with a armored plated Escalade that they got from the Mayor's going away raffle.

On a more serious note, the other day I saw a good humor truck in Garden City. It was a late '60s or early '70s ford pickup with the freezer on the back and them bells. Sitting behind the wheel was a good humor man in full uniform. I understand from my mother-in-law he has been doing this for almost 40 years and that is his orignal truck.

Yea, it sure is a shame things like that are going away. It was a nice life back then, at least for the most part. Layoutshooter

Well Layout, I thought about this, what we need in the city is sugar free ice cream places because I understand this is one of the fattest cities in the country.

Well the latest is Crockrel jr. wants to start the new dynasty in Detroit and remain in the Mayor's seat. His new order of business is not the crime, is not the neighborhoods, it is not the pending indictments of half of the city workers, it is not the clean up of trash and burned out buildings but the Cobo hall expansion. He has put that at the top of the list because they are scared that the auto show will pack up and move to NY. While we already pay for the staduims, the air port expansion (both of them) and for the crappy services in the area, we don't need to expand cobo but build a new convention center where the silverdome is sitting. It has all we need, hotel space, easy access to freeways and will do more for the faultering area than what is needed for Detriot.

The best thing I can think of for Detroit is a massive line of bulldozers, blade to blade. Just mow it down. Don't advertise when we are going to start either. Don't give 'em any time to plan thier attack. Need to be backed up with a battalion or two of tanks with infantry. Then we could start over. It would take a lot of disinfecting to clean it up though. I don't know what you have against Archer, Beemer. He was the best thing to happen to Detroit in a long time, IMO. After 20-some years of Young, it was refreshing to hear a Detroit mayor was actually working with the state. Now, Qwami the Swami is just a thug, plain and simple. Kinda reminds me of Slick, the wrestling manager; whereas Young was more of a Don King.

I know what you're talking about with the bulldozers. Greg, I don't know what you'd expect a mayor to pump money into the neighborhoods, when very few in the city care. Infrastructure is about as far as one could go. But the hoods themselves need the help of the ppl. I've seen a block that was almost completely owned by one developer. He kept it up nice, when all the surrounding streets were trashed. The ppl there took a lot of pride in it, and watched out for each other. We talked to a few of them when looking at a house there (yes, I thought of living there). They would've been happy to have us move there, even tho we are white. They weren't the typical "woe is me" Detroiters.
