Indeed he did - and apparently your former employer was recently
shot down as well, and found to be engaging in
criminal conduct by a Federal Court:
Federal Judge Finds N.S.A. Wiretaps Were Illegal
State Secrets, Courts, and NSA’s Illegal Wiretapping
By the way RLENT, you were sort of wrong in your take on this story. NSA was NOT at fault in this matter. NSA, CIA and a number of other like agencies do NOT act in a vacuum. ALL of their tasking comes from either the Executive or Legislative branches of government. They were not at fault. They were tasked with a mission and did it. The task was at fault. It was either written poorly, or not thought out at all.
Another part of the problem is that our laws have NOT kept up with the tech advances in the world. They need updated.
How, in your great wisdom, would YOU go about taking on terrorism? If YOU knew that a certain overseas phone number was linked to a terror cell and KNEW that they were calling a U.S. resident/citizen, what would YOU do? Ignore it? Look for a warrent? What if that call was the "go ahead" for an attack on a mall? Do you have time for "legalities"? Would the deaths of thousands justify your actions?
Just asking questions. These were things that I, and others like me, dealt with on a daily basis. A massive burden and heavy responsibility. What would YOU do? Arm chair quarter backing is fun and easy, the reality of what NSA and other agencies face on a daily basis is NOT!!
