Signs on Trucks

This question is more for the C/V, Sprinter, Cube Van Operator. I'm sure most expediting companies, make you have signs on your vehicle. But if you had the option could you or would have signs on your vehicle if it was an option. Provided your carrier still provided you with the proper ICC paperwork to keep in the vehicle. I realize there are some instances when signage is required like recovering freight from an Airport, like I do at O'Hare, or delivering into a Caterpillar or John Deere plant.

If your operating commercially you must have signs.
New regulations state you must also display your DOT number on each side door. I'm not sure of the start date for that.

Unless FMSCA changes the legal definition of a CMV..as it stands, we are not a commercial vehicle..unless carrying hazmat.

BUT individual states could invoke their own laws...
