The parent(s) should have told the deputy he is not allowed on their property without a warrant. If the deputy forced the issue the parent(s) should have called 911 and reported an armed intruder in their home. The whole thing should have been about a 2 minute interview to get the boy to repeat what he said followed by encouragement toward his goal and run along to class now. It's obvious the supposed adult school officials and deputy are mental defectives, most likely liberals, and shouldn't be in the position of power they hold. Idiocy at it's finest.

While I agree with Cheri's skepticism the fact remains schools have never had to play by the rules or the bill of rights...they have trampled on children before and always will. When my oldest was in high school the assistant vice principal absolutely did not like him or me. He tried to make new rules that applied only to my son, thankfully the principal caught on and disagreed. Bet he typed that letter of apology to me with muttered curses.
The have a student handbook in every school but the rules in these handbooks are subject to interpretation and some clearly violate an individuals rights.

No offense Leo, but you're not helping your cause any.

What exactly is his cause? Have you ever thought he just might be one of them there liberals, being disguised and acting as a right-wing fruitcake to discredit legitimate, true blooded American, right-wing nut jobs.

My skepticism is really more about Fox News' shouting sensationalist headlines that don't quite match up to the actual facts presented in the article.
[Current favorite is "Busty teen forbidden prom!" except that the young lady went to the prom, actually].
It gets tiresome, reading those misleading, if not downright deceitful, headlines copied & pasted in outrage. When you look closer, the headline is not supported by facts at all. Besides which, the schools are, as noted, locally run - it's not an issue that concerns anyone who doesn't have a child enrolled in that district. Those who do should act appropriately, but what has it to do with the rest of us?
There's enough going on in the US today that concerns every one of us, and this sort of 15 minutes of fame outrage of the week is best left to those involved to resolve.
The rest of us are just wasting our time.
Yes, me too.

:p

Fox is not any different than NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN. They all just spew BS. The ONLY difference is that Fox is not as blatant about shilling for the government as the others are.

Cheri I agree completely....I see some of the most outrageous headlines only to find the story doesn't match! I used to enjoy Fox news but now after a few incidents I rarely go to their page or watch their news. Though they have own slant to stories and make it difficult to know what's real and what's their agenda!

The ever growing reliance on television, and especially video, is making it harder to know anything - the 'news' is so quickly fed to us, we haven't time to absorb, much less question what we hear.
I need to read it to do that.
And I still read Fox - if only for a preview of the rubbish that gets slapped up here, lol.
;)

That's like saying there's no real difference between bottles of vintage wine & plonk: just because you don't have the ability to discern the differences, [much less appreciate them] doesn't mean they don't exist.
