A bounty program has an NFL coach in some hot water. Former New Orleans Saints’ defensive coordinator admits to paying players cash bonuses for injuring their opponents.

It is a professional sport where billions of dollars are made and the tax payer foots the bill for new stadiums. Of course a coach would get into trouble for this but how about the owners who depend on the roughness of the game to draw fans?

There is a huge difference between a rough, contact sport and diliberately trying to injure someone. This is no excuse for that. Charges should be filed.

This has nothing to do with the taxpers footing the bill for stadiums. Take that up with your wonderful mayor and state government.

They should. I would consider this to be 'assault with intent to do bodily harm'. Those who encouraged this and those who did the damaged SHOULD be arrested. At the very least, never be allowed to participate, at any level, in the NFL again.

And it will stop...for a short time....this is nothing new and has been going on for more yrs then anyone wants to admit...and not only in the NFL....and players are not always paid to do this by their coaches....This story came out last week and when it did 3 players from other NFL teams came out and said "yea it happend here too"....to think this is a new issue is just silly....
