Same is true on our tractor trailers as the straight trucks. This is obviolusly a very well kept vehicle by looking at the pictures. Assuming it was mechanically sound it would not only pass, but it would be pretty cool.

As for weight, I have to guess but I am thinking avg of around 35k.

From what I'm told it has more newer parts and better maintained than many newer trucks....He thinks the same, it is a very cool truck, and those similar...calls attention, and he'd never drive junk either. ......Not sure why any sane man would want to climb over that doghouse ...lol.....

I'll pass it on that you are open to the idea.

Oh, btw....Does Load 1 use solos ?? And have a need?....so many want team, and like me....he doesn't team ..lol

I am gonna have him get his own profile name....ask his own questions. LOL....starting to feel like his assistant!!
He is a company T/T van driver seeking to go out on his own as well...

Yes we have solo tractor trailers. Most of our tractor fleet is solos. They run primarily regional, about a 500 mile radius of Detroit. They pull general commodity and expedite freight.

As far as chef, well to be honest when a man walks thru the door with a fifteen pound cheesecake, I am not sure if we even looked at his vehicle! LOL

All I can say is WOW, I have been around a lot of companies. Both in a life before expediting, and now, expediting. I had the opportunity to go to Load 1 a day before orientation and poke around. Everyone was friendly and willing to share info. More important than that, everyone was HAPPY and glad to be there. From the guys in the shop to Admin to dispatch, oh, yes you can actually walk into dispatch and have a conversation with your travel agents. Nice to put a face with a voice. No wonder the turn over rate is low. I met drivers that have been there 20 + years and would not even consider any where else. A reflection of great leadership, management and just down right giving a hoot about people. Sure glad to be on board and part of a ambitious team.

We use PC Miler Practical Miles when we talk about rates and miles at Load One. Which I believe is center of the zip to the center of the zip. Most systems all have an interface with one of the major providers like PC Miler or Rand. I do not know if any of them that do a door to door mileage interface. I think the computing power and speed would be cumbersome on most IT systems. Plus when you get down to street level mapping and mileage, systems can be very fussy with street names, spelling, abbreviations and such.

Most everyone runs on either "short miles" or "practical miles" We have always ran on practical as it is a closer mileage calculation to real world. Some carriers will tout higher mileage pay, but do not mention what mileage interface they use. Short miles vs. Practical miles varies somewhere between 2-9% from my experience.
