Cheri...was it something I said? Here, let me ease that chip off your shoulder. Just teasin'....you gotta know all this jousting is in jest.
I don't even mind when you twist my words beyond comprehension and ascribe sinister motives. You have left me in stitches!

Coffee would be nice, have one on me. What we all need is a really good run. I just woke up so I can sleep during the day. Have to get ready for a long run over the weekend. As to the election, I am still praying that there is a major earthquake the night before. One that only wipes out the polling places, or better yet, the voting machines. Along with the earthquake we wake up to find that both McCain and Obama have been arrested for money laundering. Then maybe we could start over. It would be really interesting to have 2 honest candidates running. That has never happened in my lifetime. Layoutshooter

Well I was going to post last night but…

This is not about issues with Gays or blacks or Catholics or Irish (the list that was complied by reading all the articles on this guy). Tallcal with his knee jerk reaction made it out to be gay bashing again, assuming that the south is behind the times with every issued under the sun, with exception of that horrid money pit chocolate city where everyone lives in complete harmony.

The guy is (was) an unemployed trucker who just lost it – I think Cheri hit it right on the nose, there is a problem with the mental health care in this country. I do not think that McCain will address it but I also know that Obama will never address in the manner it deserves. In order for us to prevent these crimes, we must return to a time when society’s protection was over individual rights – no choice, there is no in between. If we can’t lock him up to force him to get help, then we can’t stop him. I am not saying we need to go to the extremes of Minority Report or back to the absolute “lock them up and forget about them” but something that would have prevented the VT shootings or this. The signs were there for the VT shootings, the court was involved but because the guy had rights, the cost was too high.

case in point..what would you do with a 17 year old druggie and boozer with emotional issues who had bouts of violent outbursts? This kid was thrown into an adult ward in 1967 the dark age before enlightenment...diagnosis..maniac depressive with homicidal/suicidal tendencies....

I would say give him some help, take the money from the Medicaid system where it all went, and get the guy help. But we won't. A lot of the homeless are mentally ill, some were thrown out of the closing mental institutions where funding was shifted from mental health to medicaid, and welfare.

The dark ages were not the late 60's, that was actually the time where the system was actually making a lot of gains, the dark ages were the 30's. The 70's the need to cut back and than the shift started from mental health to the 'war' on poverty.

Cheri...was it something I said?
Twas, indeed. And that I was in the mood to debate/argue something, (prob'ly out of boredom)
Here, let me ease that chip off your shoulder.
No chip - just a button that gets pushed when I read what sounds like bigoted comments (perverse unnatural lifestyles) that I just can't ignore. Same thing with comments suggesting that 'truck driver' is synonymous with lowlife, dirtbag - you get the picture.
Just teasin'....you gotta know all this jousting is in jest.
"Just teasin" - that's what my ex always said, after I objected to some very outrageous remark - I don't buy it, but I'm not losing any sleep over it, either. If I didn't enjoy the debate, I'd keep my mouth shut, eh? I don't take it personally, if that's what you mean, and hope you don't either.
I don't even mind when you twist my words beyond comprehension and ascribe sinister motives.
Examples, please? Which words? What motives?
You have left me in stitches!
Then I guess my work here is done. :D:D:D

A sick time we are living, may God have mercy on us all.Germany looks like a civilized Wonderland compared to what we have come to call a "common occurance" in America.

These "common occurences" would be a lot less common if the criminially insane and the common criminals were locked up the way they are supposed to be. Instead, the liberal judges we have presiding over our courts let these crazies roam among the general public because their rights are more important than those of their potential victims. If this guy or the creepy kid that shot up Va. Tech had been institutionalized, the first ones to come to their rescue would have been the ACLU or some other liberal group whining about the violations of their human rights. At this very moment these same liberals are trying to free the terrorists in GITMO, who once freed could certainly create as much havoc as these homocidal maniacs that shoot up our schools and churches. These unstable types need to be locked up when they display their violent tendencies and a psychological evaluation should be mandatory. If they're found to be mental cases they should be housed in a safe place with high fences and rubber rooms.

Now you've returned the favor, and left me in stitches - or will have, the next time my delicate nature is crawling under the truck to wire up a muffler, or hotwiring it with a screwdriver in the middleofnowhere, at 4 am, or climbing on the tire to clean baked bugs off the windshield! :D:D:D

Amen to that Dave, I think I will go back to work, pick up a load in the morning. Ah the smell of freshly burned diesel again. Sleeping in a bouncy truck, lousy food. Looking forward to it. Layoutshooter

Yeah, sure, Dave - blame it on us.....:p
Besides, he started it!;)
PS If you're thinking of calling my dispatcher, and begging them to find me a load - I already have, 12 times today, sigh.
