That's our good old liberal left. We don't want solutions. We want to perpetuate problems and continue to criticize the right. Well, at least a handful of members will be happy. Personally I'd like to see John Ross' fiction plot turned into about a gross of news headlines.

Yea,those ****ed liberals at it again.Lets see,8 years of zero energy policy (except enriching close friends of the Bush family, the Royals of Saudi)and now ,because of the lack of any energy policy, lets drill like crazy for maybe some oil in 10 years.****ed those liberals, lets scalp em boys!!

Mean while, back on the farm,T Bone Pickens,a man who knows a thing about oil and energy, suggests we may have enough natural gas under our fair land to power every stinkin expeiter for $1.00 per gallon for the next 200 years. And we can produce enough wind generated power in Texas alone to keep the lights on in several southern states, whether they deserve it or not.
Gee,sounds like an ENERGY POLICY to me ???????? How about y'all?

Yep those **** liberals.

Yep them d*mn Clintons – also friends of the Saudis, making them pay for some of his library and giving him several speaking engagements at a few million a crack.

I don’t think this country needs an energy policy, I think they need a get the h*ll out of the way policy.

Now a lot of people want the wind/solar options for their home but can’t afford it because of all the money they are paying on the taxes for the fuel they put into their tank to get to work and other people who are hindered by the environmentalist and the government because they have to worry about some d*mn bird who’s habitat which was never there in the first place but because someone may have thought they saw one of them d*mn birds there once in 1963, they can’t use their own private property for Solar or wind power.

The chose is easy, get the government off the backs of the people and stop the environmentalist from stopping us or vote everyone out of office. The congress has the nerve to tell us that we can’t drill, we can’t use our money, we have to choose between food and fuel all because they want us to be setup for the second coming of Christ.

Yep let’s drill in our waters, we the tax payer is not subsidizing a dime for the oil companies to drill; it is the oil company’s profits that are being used for this, not my tax money.

BUT my money is paying more in taxes at the pump than the oil companies, the distributors and the end retailers are getting in profit for every gallon of fuel I put into my tank and even if I drive one mile on a road I already paid for through those taxes, I pay more money in road taxes with the taxes added at the pump to come to almost 20% of the price of fuel that ends up in my tank.

Meanwhile down at the farm, T Boone Pickens suggested that we need to move fast on Natural Gas not because of the idea that it is better but because he owns a hell of a lot of it and the company that can setup stations which it is not moving fast enough for him to make money off of before he dies.

Regardless, Natural gas may be one of the ways to meet our needs for fewer than 100 miles a day commuters, it is not for trucks. AND beside all that, there are fights with the gas stations and other locations over the idea of putting another pump that they may not be able to recoup the initial cost within 4 years, let alone 10. No matter that almost 99% of all gas stations have natural gas hooks up, the real issue is at that the point if 40% of gas stations nation wide do install and use CNG pumps, what will be the reaction with home heating through the limitations of the infrastructure in use today and will this cause things like drops in pressure and limited supplies – in other words you can’t suck 100 gallons of sh*t through a pipe intended for 10 gallons.

AND I am all for wind power but I am for it where the wind blows – Florida is a great place to have national wind power program and so along the east coast but I remember that… oh yea that’s right.... the elitist (the democrat party) decided that it is alright to claim Bush is holding the country back on energy at the same time they can’t possibly allow wind power to be setup in the ocean that may be near Kennedy’s many brothels.

Gee,sounds like an ENERGY POLICY to me ???????? How about y'all?

Yep, it sounds like an energy policy to me too, NOT.

THE DEMOCRATS promised us action on gas prices but the problems is that they have lied to us, just like the republicans have so to me they are just as much as hypocrites.. nope they are worst because they don’t believe that it is not about what they can afford but what we can. My money is on the people who don't tell me that we have to move to an alternative without first fixing the problem we have now.

The point is not about now, it's too late.
Unfortuantly no one in this administration thought anything about alternative sources of energy (thats why they call it and Energy Policy) for 8 friggin years. Come on now my man, Harry Ried ihas about much blame for the energy shortcomings of the last 8 years as my old cat. Nutin' from nutin' 'is nutin'.And thats what our energy policy has been. W has been to busy nation building and terroist recruiting in Iraq. He was shocked a few months ago when a reporter told him gas was approching $4.00 per gallon.
" I had not heard that" was his brilliant response when asked what he planned to do about it. he should have been impeached at the time.

Talking about a lack of energy policy, it certainly goes back longer than 8 years. Over ten years ago, Bill Clinton vetoed the bill to allow drilling in ANWR; that act alone, if passed, could have alleviated a lot of the oil supply problems and the resultant pricing we are dealing with today. The Pelosi/Reid Democrat-controlled congress promised us an energy policy when they were put in power, and we are still waiting. Try to blame Bush for everything if you want, but thinking people know better. A lot of the economic deterioriation has happened since the Democrats took control of congress. Their obstructionist tactics have obviously failed miserably, and their 9% approval rating shows that the American public recognizes their incompetence.

Forget 8 years and forget the 8 Clinton years before that with nothing. Let's talk about today. Today we know there's a problem. Today we know we've got to at least partially detach ourselves from middle east oil. Today we know we must make changes and do things to correct the problem. Today. Today, not yesterday. Today, not last year. Today, not last administration.

Cal, you can ignore the point and again revert to the Bush bashing. That's the liberal M.O. That doesn't alter the fact that today the problem is not Bush and the blame doesn't go to Bush. The problem is Harry Reid. The problem is the democratic senate. The problem is the liberals. Today. I'm ****ed at Bush for a number of things. That doesn't make me blind. I clearly see that TODAY Harry Reid did what he does best and that's vote against the best interest of the nation. Today.

The point is not about now, it's too late.

Why is it too late?

I understand that there are two large companes who invested MILLIONS of dollars of investers money to build solar plants and the congress is holding things up by not extending the solar tax credits. I would venture that between the BLM (the administration’s problem) and the tax credit (the congress’ problem) that these companies can start producing by the middle of next year.

Why is it too late?

We have resources to get things moving here, oil is not in short demand, the speculation of it is in high demand and the congress and revoke the laws that were created in the ‘70s to allow the environmentalist to sue on behalf of people and animals – a right the citizen does not have. The effect would also be immediate in so much as we will see speculation drop because it is an emotional game.

Well they have, you need to search around the commerce department and the energy department to see what technology transfers have taken place in the last 7 years, it is amazing. Beside, I am not defending Bush but congress has a chance to change things and even the dems in congress were handed a lot of compromises and tradeoffs during the republican majority that they could have gotten a lot of things done. Remember that Bush only started using his Veto stamp in the last few years.

Yes Harry has to blame for the mess as much as Bush, especially since his party’s platform was solving the mistakes of the administration and he has had a clear path since the democrat majority. I also think your cat is a lot smarter than Reid and Pelosi put together, something about a feline makes more sense than someone in congress.

W has been to busy nation building and terroist recruiting in Iraq. He was shocked a few months ago when a reporter told him gas was approching $4.00 per gallon.
" I had not heard that" was his brilliant response when asked what he planned to do about it. he should have been impeached at the time.

Well the last time I talked to someone in Iraq, they seem to think they may be coming home before the new president takes office – which I think would be a great thing to do to Obama. One of these great people also mentioned that there is a lot less animosity towards the soldiers in some of the worst areas and with the money flowing on the Iraqi side, people are thinking twice about supporting terrorist. The Iraqis are taking over and they want to live peacefully, the Iraqi government offers rewards and you can’t image what they pay out.

Now think for a moment, you’re an intelligent man, been around the world and know what it is like to run a company – do you know what the price of sewing machine oil is?

I would expect nothing less from Bush, he does not fill up the limos or the Suburbans in the white house fleet, that is budgeted through the WH general travel budget and he never knows what we pay for fuel for him unless he asks about it and I don’t expect him to ask. The same with Clinton, he didn’t know every detail of what our daily lives are like and hearing this from one of his aides that he was really surprised that the price of hamburger was so much in Chappaqua that he was taken back and said something really intelligent “how do people live like that”.

I don't think this is something you can lay at Bush's feet. He was pushing for drilling years ago. But, the democrats put every obstacle they could in the way because they were too worried that Bush/Cheney might make a profit off of it.
That isn't exactly a secret.
Look at what Congress is doing now? They don't seem to have a solution either other than to turn down anything Bush suggests. Which is ok, then they should have offered a plan quite some time ago. Instead, they spend months debating a budget on how much Pelosi's plane should cost because she wanted it retrofitted with a gourmet kitchen.
Problem is much deeper than a Bush problem

You know impeachment is no cheap undertaking. Something like 30 mil dollars worth of tapayer money was wasted by Ken Starr and his cronies on the Clinton deal. I think it could have been better used elsewhere. That's another thread though.

The problem is we had a Republican Congress. Last go round power switched hands to the Democrats. That in and of it slef isn't really a problem except like the Republicans before them they made all kinds of promises and haven't followed through. Again to quote Merele Haggard "when the politicans do what they say their gonna do we'll all be drinking that free bubble lub and eatin that rainbow stew".

when this lame group showed up in congress 18/19 months ago- energy prices STARTED moving upward overnite--CHARTS prove it!! We need downward pressure on the markets--NOT LEFT WING IDEOLOGY..Which has proved current trends wrong directions!!$700 BILLION sent to the MIDDLE EAST every year since!!

That was kinda my point. Fuel prices didn't start climbing until the Congress was ran by the democrats. Seems like that gets overlooked by a few.

They all suck!!!!!!!! Impeach every dang gone one of them. Then run them through a heavy duty limb chipper on live TV. Then the next bunch would know what was waiting for them if they screw up like the last bunch did!!!! I am tired of all of this. When my business gets wiped out by high fuel or high taxes or whatever I will become a bum. I have supported the lazy and the bums and the drug addicts all my life, even those who are not in elected positions. Anarchy is looking better all the time. At least then things would make sense. That was a special prosecutor and it was not the reason he was impeached, it was the trigger of it. He lied under oath, he lied like others have but they have gone to jail and he was charged and impeached but not removed. I am very glad he wasn't removed in one respect because than we would have to have dealt with a tree for a president and not a good looking one at that but on the other hand, the tree would not have made it through the 2000 election because of the stigma of being the one that took over in the vacuum of the Clinton WH.

w held one of his unprecidented news conferences this morning. There was so little interest that C Span 1 and 2 had better things to bring us(Paulson in front of Congress and something else depressing on C Span 2).
None of the majors carried it,bit I found the most coverage on PBS radio(thank God for them in so many ways).
When asked point balnk about the rising gas prices ,his reponse was to drill the s*** out of eveything. When asked about suggesting Americans cut back on usage,he said something along the lines thet Americans are smart enough to know what to do.In other words, the President see's no use in suggesting to his flock that they may wish to turn down the air conditioning or cut back on travel, they can figure it out for themselves.

But bring up home mortage failures, and he blames poor choices by dumb Americans thinking they could get something for nothing. Man,this guy, although lame duckish is more ways then one, seems even more confused then when he gasped in surprise at $4.00 per gallon gas.

Ok,back to Clinton bashing, all together now.
