Cbox? Am I right? I can't remember all the details...

Yeah u got it. There is no seperation now tho. An agreement couldnt be reached so everyone but one insanely terrible dispatcher will be staying. Things need to change quickly...People need to realize wherein the problem lays and get it fixed.. I mean honestly how long does it take to look up a national average..Even then it doesnt cover the cost of fuel but it would be a small step in the right direction

A leopard has spots lol.. Its not about first week second week. If it had happened like that I would have been gone a long time ago.. Just because there are 1 or 2 ppl doing all this screwing over didnt mean i was ready to give up on the rest.. Internal issues have plagued this company.. I was trying to help fix things that I could. Communication in this company is horrible.. Nothing gets passed on.. I really truly wanted to make this a better company so I put up with a lot of things I shouldnt have.. It was hope..Now the hope has fell through.. I wish them the best but if things dont change drastically and very soon they are going to lose their drivers and all they will be able to recruit is scabs.

Wow, So much vague nonsense. Did you once end your name with 334? Oh and the leopard reference is an old and well known one.

This country doesn't have anything to do with it. "Should be" is not a valid defense. Turtle told you what will happen if you guys keep it up. Believe me I know about being, ahem, "moderated"...

Im not being malicious.. wanna censor me go right ahead.. Im a little smarter than u give me credit for. Its like when ppl complain about politics but do absolutely nothing to change them.. I was trying to improve things.. Trying to make some change.. I am what is trying to make things better. May if people put a little more effort into things that Trust may be restored.. You have no trust then stop dealing with shady people..I have a new company and trust is the key to everyones success there.. It is like a family and not a dysfunctional one. I have found what I have been looking for.. Maybe you should too cause ur obviously not doing anything to make it better

I have not addressed your intelligence. You keep saying you were trying to make things better but you do not say what was wrong or what you did to make it right. In fact, you make no sense at all. This cloak and dagger game you are playing is of no use to anyone and merely paints you as unsophisticated....either that or you're a troll....

No my name is the same.. Yeah there is a lot of nonsense. Is it nonsense to want to make change and actually do something about it...Sounds hypocritical.. I tried to make things work with g.f. gave it everything I had.. Now my change is a family oriented trustworthy setup. I refuse to give up easily. so nonsense so be it.. Maybe if you tried a little harder like I am some of this wouldnt be happening.. So for now I am off here.. Im going to live the dream..I hope you have some different experiences or figure out that I know what im talking about. If not I still dont care. I made the change.. I am the change.. So for now namaste.. Hope you find what I have and a little of the negativity towards the driver will change.. The drivers make this business one person can make a difference... Oh btw. to spongebox and pandora. You are awesome andI know we agree Looking forward to joining the family.... epic is how we will describe this.. Im off this arguement.. I havee some living to do that dont involve this thread.. Peace

She has not stirred up anything that has not already been stirred up. She is simply expressing what is being relayed to her by several drivers
Anyone with any experience in this business should know that simply relaying what others have said shouldn't be done. We've all seen case after case where drivers have complained about this or that, and it's turned out to be an incorrect interpretation of what the driver thought should happen, where the driver wrongly assumes something should be one thing when the reality is it's completely different, and the conclusion the driver reaches is that he was done wrong.

For example, how many times have we read here on EO how Panther is a bunch of crooks because they kept a driver's escrow? When the details come out, it has always turned out that Panther did not, in fact, steal someone's escrow, that Panther did precisely what they said in the contract.

It's very common for people to say, "The contract says <insert often incorrect summary interpretation here> and they aren't doing it." What they should be posting, instead of their interpretation of the what the contract says, is the actual quoted text of the contract. When someone states, "the contract says they pay all fuel costs," that's a summary interpretation of the contract, not a quote, unless the contract does, indeed explicitly state, "we pay all fuel costs."

We'd also need to know more about what the contract specifics are on fuel reimbursement and calculation. Like, how often the fuel reimbursement rates changes. Is it daily, weekly, monthly? For example, a month ago gas was indeed $3.50 a gallon average. How is the reimbursement calculated? If it's calculated at 12 MPG and you have a heavy foot and only get 10 MPG, what does the contract say about that?

Drivers, and people in general, tend to be very passionate and confident in their position when they think they've been wronged, but that in no way means they aren't dead wrong about what happened. It doesn't help when details are exaggerated and misrepresented, either. Like, other than Hawaii and Alaska, there are only four states with an average gasoline pump price of $4.00 or more. Between New York and California, there are three states where gas is over $4.00 a gallon, and there are five states which it is not, and those five comprise way more road miles than the three that are.

When you make accusations, you have to be accurate about them, and when you defend your accusations, you have to be accurate about that, too. Knowing how prevalent driver misinterpretations are in this business, it's not very wise to take what a driver, or many drivers, tell you at face value and then simply relay that information as being factual into a public forum. Not only do you run the risk of libel, but you run the even greater risk of coming off looking like a buffoon.

Ground Flight may indeed be "modern day crooks" as the title of the thread accuses, but it's by no means been proved here.

That is what is wrong with this country. If you cant take a man for his word he is not much a man.. I have given every oppurtunity for things to be right.. I will not hop from job to job.. I got my experience and I now know what to look for when things are "promised". You have a jaded point of perception on how things "should be".. Correct me if i am wrong but you sound like you are whats wrong with this business.. Oh wait you cant..

I think my opinion of what is wrong in this business is very much on point.... Who makes a life decision on a handshake anymore? Especially in trucking , history is not on an honest persons side.

I think this guy is a troll. I don't seen any evidence being offered up to back up the accusations that are being hurled around on here. Scottinbama doesn't seem to be having any trouble with GF. I don't see anyone other than three posters, two of which do not even work for the company complaining on here. And the one poster that claims to be am employee could be anyone hiding behind a fictitious name.

I have a good feeling as to who these individuals are, but I'm going to keep my assumptions to myself. I think some of the multi-carrier drivers who can't perform are running out of companies to latch onto because they've all been blacklisted. Now they're trying to stir the pot and create problems for the companies that have let them go because they can't perform the job. After all there are only so many carriers you can burn your bridges with before there's nowhere left to go. I think this thread has run its course and should be locked.

And if memory serves me correctly everyone one here stirs a pot now and then, as to the reference of being a blacklisted carrier hopper that's not the case, we've been with the sane carrier our whole career and intend on staying with this carrier, it seems the van guys are a bit jaded and somewhat opinionated when it comes to a " know it all " aspect of this industry, like I said I might have been given false information and I might be a bit judgmental in my opinion of certain companies but then again so might those of you on the flip side of this discussion, if this is not the forum to sound off on then please change the name to something that has " socialist " or " censored" or something to that effect!

All comments posted by me are in my opinion and only my opinion, since I don't drive a van I can't be in the "clique " and that saddens me because I really like a group environment

Truth be told all to often people post second hand info on here as first hand knowledge. This hasn't been the first thread like that and won't be the last. Everyone should always take the info in such posts with a grain of salt. Sometimes they are correct other times the accuracy is limited to only one side of the story. I know nothing about gf so cannot comment about how it is run.

Your opinion of us van drivers is somewhat jaded I'd say...just my personal opinion and reading your post...I personally am NOT jaded about this business....just been around the block a few times and seen the carnage left behind by criminal owners and bad drivers/O/O's.....the ones that think this is a fairy tale "do it on hand shake" business...well....ya get what ya get...I hope it works out for them...

so a group of friends whom are in agreement with each other is a -------?

I know personally a few of there drivers and have for twenty plus years now so I trust there words, I know this career is not for the faint of heart and more so you van/sprinter guys, I'm Lucky that I work for someone who I respect and who respects his drivers and from what I have seen that's a rare find in expediting, I told my friends to get everything in writing and I wish I had the authority to display said items but I don't and I can't, I'm not just blaming the company its as much the drivers fault as it us the companies.
A lot of guys see this job and think its like driving a big rig when in reality its a whole different animal, lots of sitting, days without showers, learning to minimize your spending while maximizing your available resources, since our first load we have been amongst a choice few who can say that were completely satisfied with our carrier and I guess it baffles my mind that there are too many owners out there who only care about the almighty dollar and could care less for the ones making that dollar for them...IMHO

I've read all the responses to this thread and thought I'd add my two cents. It's really easy for someone that has no dealings with Ground Flight to get on a forum like this and make extraordinary claims and, from what I've read, few have actual facts to back up those claims and more post responses without any more facts than the thread starter. I understand your compassion for the GF drivers being frustrated sitting for any length of time; I do the same thing. And, I'm not the only one that gets frustrated with it. I'm the third shift dispatcher here at Ground Flight and nothing pains me more than to come to work, look at the fleet and realize a driver is still stuck in the same place after sitting there for several days. We have a fine staff of company drivers and O/O's that depend on a phone call from us to make or break their day; or night in my case. The bottom line is this. The Ground Flight dispatch office is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With that kind of commitment to keeping the drivers rolling comes overhead in the cost of a brick and morter building that houses a full time dispatch team, utility bills, compliance costs, taxes that have to be paid and a host of other bills that come in the mail and have to be paid daily. Ground Flight is NOT a fly by night company hosting a company name by someone with a group of friends to seem logit and sit in the truck stops bidding freight on laptops at an unrealistic low rate as is being done now.
Freight is very slow for this time of year; although it seems to be picking up somewhat over the last few weeks. Every one of the drivers on this forum shouldn't even have time to post threads here this time of year. They should be bouncing in the seat and making money. It's just not happening so far in the first half of this year when many predicted expedited freight would be better this year than last. Having said that, where would those that slam this company suggest we send drivers that get laid over in Laredo? San Antonio? They'd be better off sitting in North Dakota somewhere. Houston? That's where we used to send them if Laredo was too competitive but Houston has proven to be worse than Laredo lately. At the end of the day, somebody has to make the decision as to what is best for the company drivers to get them moving and making money.
One of the responders to the original thread said it best when stating "This isn't a business you can come into broke." Unfortunately, with the economy in the state it's in Ground Flight get's alot of applications from prospective drivers that are down on their luck and needing employment. Each applicant is explained this line of work. There are some high demands placed on expeditors in the long hours of driving and the unfortunate long hours of waiting. Many new drivers here find out in a very short amount of time this isn't the line of work for them and bring the truck back to us. We have other company drivers that have excelled in the demands of the job and have been with us for quite some time. They have figured out the financial part of the occupation and budget their money accordingly to account for layovers. I can promise everyone reading every part of this thread the owners of this company do not just throw a stuck driver to the wolves. Every effort is made to keep them rolling and earning a living as we depend on them for the company to earn a profit to keep this company going and growing. Management here bends over backwards financially to help them get started but for some it just doesn't work out.
Before I get slammed by the masses for speaking the dispatcher side of things, allow me to set the story straight. I was a driver for Ground Flight before I sat behind this desk. One of the owners, another dispatcher as well as our Operations Manager were also drivers before sitting at their desks. I drove for more than 10 years over the road as well as driving for this company and I can attest to the level of commitment management has for the drivers here. We all do our best but in the overly competitive world of expedited freight, sometimes loads just can't be awarded; especially in a place like Laredo where you can drive by the flying fishhook on your way in to a delivery and the place looks like a white van campground in the front parking lot. I spent the entire week of Thanksgiving year before last hoping for the best and preparing for the worst at that J. But, I knew when I signed on with this deal, nothing is guaranteed. It's an overly competitive business where somebody needs something yesterday but they didn't order it till tomorrow. That's where we, as a community of expeditors, come in to help them save the day. But, there are only so many loads and too many trucks wanting them. Slamming a respected company amongst our clients and peers on this forum does nothing to make those drivers stuck there bounce in their seats to make a living.
