Well, I don't have a TV so I don't watch Fox, so I'm not sure wht to say about that. Anyway, like all things in life, follow the money. The people who say global warming is man-made are the same people who need money to fund their work. Most people, the younger ones, anyway, have only been taught how we dirty things up, but they haven't been taught how we have cleaned things up. The planet is easily the "greenest" it has been at any time in recorded history. Even before the industrial revolution there were people with lung disease coughing up stuff. Streams and rivers were ripe with raw sewage. In 1999 the sea levels were supposed to have risen 2 feet. What happened to that one? Climatologists are now saying that temperatures peaked in 1998 and it looks like the next upswing cycle won't happen for another 20 years. The polar ice caps have been melting and freezing, shrinking and growing, since there have been polar ice caps, yet all of a sudden, in our little blink of an eye existence, it's a man-made crisis.
People have bought into this crap to the point where many people actually believe carbon dioxide is a pollutant. It's not. Man-induced CO2 emissions are only about 3% of the natural carbon cycle and less than 1% of the atmospheric reservoir of carbon. The increase in the air's CO2 content over the past few centuries are far more likely to be from the result of earth's oceans giving off the gas in response to the planet's recovery from the Little Ice Age. This is all about the money, and about control. In England they are talking about issuing carbon credit cards, where you swipe your card every time you get gas, and if you use up all your carbon credits, you then, ta-da, pay a premium for the extra carbon units you are using. It's about money, it's about control, it's about socialistic mandates in every aspect of our lives for government control and taxing everything we do.
We have this bizarre need to believe that if we don't behave in a certain way we're going to be punished by something big and invisible that we can't see. That could be the planet warming to where sea levels rise and wash away all of our homes, or cause more tornadoes or hurricanes, or the volcano gods will get angry, or earthquakes in China or it'll rain for 40 days and 40 nights. Yeah, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, like none of that every happened before man started messin' with the planet. But every bit of it is based on the same religious-like belief that if you don't behave properly, you don't tow the line, you'll be punished. And people buy into it. All you have to do is follow the money. What happened to the hole in the ozone and the increased skin cancer as a result? Nothing. Turned out to be untrue, the money dried up, so they moved to global warming, which turned out to not be true, so now it's climate change, instead. Follow the money. The next hurricane won't be about global warming, it'll be about weather patterns that have existed since we've had weather. There is no evidence, zero, nada, none, that global warming or climate change has resulted in increased severe weather events globally. Severe weather events occur when temperature extremes meet, so a warmer planet will actually result in less severe events and more stable weather.
The climate has been changing since day one, and it'll keep on changing. If the earth warms, why is that a bad thing? To date, no one has shown why it will be bad. All the predictions have been wrong. Whoops. So, they push the bad things into the future...again. That way they can keep getting the money for their research now. If you look at the doom and gloom coming out of the UN, take a look at all of the solutions. Every one of them point at the money, with most of them pointing squarely at the US. And if they can get the people inside the US to buy into this crap, 90% of their work is done. Money and control.
Glaciers, some miles thick, have come and gone from North America in recent centuries. Chunks of ice fall off the ice sheet in Antarctica, known as calving, and people are saying that it's a recent, man-made phenomenon, even though it's been going on since forever. In our unstable and evolving planet, temperatures are always either rising or falling. Who knows whether a trend is the product of human activity or natural? The answer is nobody. All we have is hypothesis and thin-air guesses. And environmental organizations are fomenting false fears in order to promote agendas and raise money. It's that simple.
The planet has always been in a state of change, warming and cooling, and to presume the current state is man-made is about as silly as stating that man is the only intelligent life in the universe. Nobody knows. Nobody. You can believe what you want, but the bottom line is you don't know squat, and neither do the people who are preaching to you about the ills of man and climate change. If you're happy being a Lemming, so be it. Change your lightbulb and maybe the angry tornado gods will look favorably upon you.
