Death by DeSantis

If we haven't learned anything in the last 5 or 6 years, the one thing we know for sure is, whatever Democrats accuse Republicans of doing, it's a stealth admission by Democrats that they themselves are already doing it or have done it.

Trump colluded with Russia!
Turns out, no, that was the Dems and Hillary and Russia.

Trump will not accept the election as legitimate if he loses.
Turns out, no, that was the Dems and Hillary.

Trump will cheat to win the election against Biden!
That one is just hilarious.

So here are the total numbers of cases and deaths since the start of the pandemic for both California and Florida,

California 4,647,154 cases and 71,254 deaths
Florida 3,650,282 cases and 59,670 deaths

California has almost double the population, 39.5 million to 21.5 million so to be equal per capita the cases and deaths for California should be almost double the Florida numbers.

OK, now compare New Jersey and New Hampshire.

This is fun!

The reason I picked California was that some on here have spoken out against the crazy liberals and their lockdown policies that cost a lot of money and caused businesses to go out of business or move out of California.

Just looking at the totals, money is more important to the red states and life is more important to the blue states.

From starvation?
No from Covid, even if you do survive it, you could end up like the person who I work with who as of tomorrow will have been in the hospital for 12 weeks, will he ever be able to work again? Hard to say.

I don't like DeSantis but must admit he's a brilliant political strategist.

While Trump and DeSantis have always had buried tension between them because both are possible 2024 presidential candidates, that stress is beginning to show. It will show more as the 2024 campaigns further emerge.

Recently, Trump indirectly called DeSantis "gutless" for not revealing if DeSantis is boosted or not. Then, DeSantis countered by saying one of his biggest regrets in office was not speaking out much louder in March 2020, when Trump advised the nation to stay home to slow the fast-spreading coronavirus.

It's a brilliant move by DeSantis. He knows Trump never regrets anything he does and never admits error. DeSantis's remark corners Trump with a deed Trump clearly did, and one that the Trump base thinks should not have happened at all and should never happen again. DeSantis cornered Trump with Trump's own deed while aligning himself with the Trump base in a way Trump cannot.

DeSantis conveniently overlooks the fact that he too shut down his state to fight the virus. But in this exchange he's getting away with it because DeSantis allows himself to express regret, which Trump will never do. Thus, DeSantis retains the freedom to maneuver while having Trump pinned.

Watch for more brilliant moves as the Trump/DeSantis tension surfaces more. DeSantis knows how to push Trump's buttons. He bides his time, calculates his moves, and makes precise strikes when the opportunities present. Trump is emotional and impetuous. DeSantis is highly intelligent and cool under fire.

Because it affects our business, I check FL COVID-19 numbers almost every day. No media outlet is needed to do that. Simply go directly to the sources that originate the data; the same sources the media goes to when they see fit to do a COVID-19 story.

While "dropping like a rock" is a good thing, that's half the story. The other half is the "soaring like a rocket" part that comprised the front end of the 3-month surge.
Oh, ok.

This is an opinion piece but includes some poll data that suggests DeSantis is overcoming Trump faster and more decisively than I first thought.

"The DeSantis takeover move is made possible by Trump’s flagging support among Republicans. As Trump has moved out of the public eye (and the social media orbit) he has become less vital to party members. Today, reporter Byron York of the conservative Washington Examiner noted that a new poll shows that fewer Republicans are describing themselves more as Trump supporters (36 percent) than as party supporters (56 percent)."

Interesting considering that the CDC had revised their estimate and lowered their estimate of omnicron cases to less than half, meaning delta is currently more prevalent and their antibodies work against that strain.
