I never personally believed Colin Powell to be an idiot prior to his jump to the Obama camp. Then again, I didn't at that point either, that was just racism on his part I'm sure. His latest statements do make you wonder though if maybe he is dumber than we thought initially in addition to putting race above all else.

Many GOP supported OBama.....Powell just happened to be a black GOP who supported Obama...BUT Powell is still a GOP....And what is wrong with what he said....It mirrors what you guys have said in here? I am confused?

There is a reason federal employees should never be allowed to vote in any federal election - powel is one who looks for political capital for his own ambitions. He is not unlike Macarthur.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/"I'm concerned at the number of programs that are being presented, the bills associated with these programs and the additional government that will be needed to execute them," Mr. Powell said in an interview with CNN's John King.

No need for concern. How did Powell think President Obama was going to create all these new jobs?

In Obamaland, government is a growth industry. Private sector jobs, as a percentage of the whole, will surely decline.

Powell ..
"The federal government has become too large and too intrusive in our lives," Mr. Powell said then. "We can no longer afford solutions to our problems that result in more entitlements, higher taxes to pay for them, more bureaucracy to run them and fewer results to show for it."
Mr. Powell said that he still believes what he said then, but that he would put it in different terms now.
"I don't like slogans anymore like 'limited government.' That's not the right answer. The right answer is: Give me a government that works," he said. "Keep it as small as possible. Keep the tax burden on the American people as small as possible. But at the same time, have government that is solving the problems of the people."

In 2007, he donated the maximum amount allowed to Sen. John McCain, the Arizona Republican who won the GOP nomination.

Too bad Powell didn't chose to run against OBama...it would have cancelled the race card.

Who?

Me?

I don't think so.

The federal empoyee ban on voting in a federal election has it's roots in the democratic party, the same with recalling the senators and congressmen through a recall amendment and the same as we need a good war all the time.

As for Powell, it is the left where that came from, not the right. It seems to be true when you look at what he has been saying. He knows that the mess will become unmanageable and he knows that someone will have to step up to the plate and do something to "lead" the country out of mess Obama created. Maybe voting for Obama wasn't a bad stratigy seeing McCain was an idiot to begin with.

I would not vote for Powell reguardless of party. I did NOT trust him when he was in my chain of command and trust him even less now. Powell was always a little to interested in what was good for himself and NOT for what was good for the people under him. He is too interested in what he does plays for the press rather than doing the job. Way too typical of a politition. I don't like or want to vote for career polititions. They are responsible for most of the problems we have now, and yet, we keep voting them in year after year.

Need time you go to vote keep this old saying in mind: " For things to change you have to change." You cannot expect different results if you continue to re-elect the same old garbage. IF you REALLY want change, look for NON-CAREER people, NOT machine polititions.
