DeSantis has both Vaccination and monoclonal locations on basically every street corner, but some think that isn’t impressive. Lol.

Yeah ... it's "impressive" alright.

:tearsofjoy:

Florida to close half its monoclonal antibody sites

Ooops !!!

Florida sent scarce COVID-19 therapy to a small private clinic before some big hospitals

DeSantis is a grifter that learned at the feet of his Orange Master.

Here’s how Florida distributes scarce COVID-19 therapy

"... get it within two hours of everybody ..."

Top DeSantis donor invested millions in COVID-19 antibody treatment the Florida governor is touting

No wonder he's doing all he can to ensure that people do not get vaxxed ... he wants people to get sick ... so the fat cat who's been funding him can wet his noodle for a little payback ... courtesy of Uncle Sammie ...

Sounds like socialism to me ...

:tearsofjoy:

Very much looking forward to the eventual autopsy that will be done on this cluster flop to unpack what actually happened:

Weeks into Florida's omicron wave, surge of COVID-19 deaths begins

Florida's coronavirus deaths spike to 470 in week; cases up 7.7% to 429,311

Florida COVID update: State surpasses 63,000 deaths as cases near five million

LOL ... then why isn't he ?

He can't even deal with the state that he's supposedly governing.

:tearsofjoy:

Just have a look at what a cluster flop his COVID response has been:

Ron DeSantis - Wikipedia

Among other things, he's been the proverbial firehose of misinformation.

:tearsofjoy:

Add to that, it appears he personally couldn't even keep himself from contracting COVID himself ... and then may have lied about it to his constituents, when he reappeared in public after having been completely MIA for several weeks:

Seems just a little shaky and out of breathe ... painful to watch.

Ron DeSantis Out of Breath in Video Prompts COVID Speculation

This guy has a wife who has breast cancer which she is ungoing treatment for (so likely immune-compromised) ... and apparently he couldn't even take the necessary precautions to ensure that he didn't risk getting exposed.

Or, possibly, it was a just a bad breakfast burrito.

:tearsofjoy:

Not exactly what I'd call confidence inspiring.
Lol aoc couldn't even keep from getting covid while at a gay bar.....

Monoclonal sites dropped because case loads dropped like a rock and there wasn’t a demand. A year into his presidency does Biden have enough monoclonals for everyone that needs them or are they rationing?

Somebody who doesn’t get the jab, it doesn’t affect anyone else. Like I said, vaccinated people can spread it too. So what difference does it make if someone else gets it or not? They get vaccinated for themselves.
So the man who has a wife and 5 kids who depend on him decides that he does not need the shot, then gets sick and dies how is his family going to move on with their lives without income?

But im guessing most in that position would be first in line to get their shot so that they can protect their families.

I doubt he was tested because like Trump he is downplaying the virus in public to make himself look better. But if he does suspect he has covid, is he isolating himself from his wife who is really vulnerable right now?

People were bashing him because he took a little time off to be with his wife going through treatments, and good for him for being there for her, but it only takes one quick little tweet for him to let the people of Florida know why he is out of sight, instead he just vanished without a word.

AOC spends her time in NYC and DC with strict rules and has thus far not caught covid, she steps foot in Florida and catches it, so which way is better to stop the spread of the virus?????

False. When the hospitals overfill with COVID-19 patients, it's overwhelmingly unvaccinated people. These people block others with serious non-covid medical conditions from getting medical care. Those without insurance create massive debt for themselves and burden hospitals with unpaid bills; thereby driving everyone's health care costs higher. Those large numbers of vaccinated people cause tremendous stress on their loved ones as they lay sick and dying in their hospital beds, some gasping for their last breaths having suffered greatly for weeks before.

All this avoidable in most cases but for their choice to not get vaccinated.

False.

When I had COVID-19, the monoclonal treatment was not on every corner but relatively convenient to me, about a 30 minute drive. Diane has COVID-19 now and most of the treatment centers have been closed. It's a much longer drive to one today.

So the number of covid cases increases in FL, the demand for monoclonal treatments rises, meanwhile Biden rations/withholds the amount of treatments sent to that state. How is DeSantis to blame for the shortage?
You're blinded by the blame game you perpetually play. I did not say a word about blaming anyone for the fewer number of monoclonal antibody treatment centers in FL. I simply said that what you said was false. You said, "DeSantis has both Vaccination and monoclonal locations on basically every street corner ..." That is simply not true. My post was not about Desantis, it was about you posting false information.

Also, I'm not sure about the current demand for monoclonal antibody treatments. The dispensing center closest to us provides an infusion product that is said to be less effective or ineffective against the omicron variant. Since it seems safe to believe Diane has the omicron variant of COVID-19, we have zero demand for that drug. I have not looked into this. I do not know what the actual demand is for monoclonal antibody treatments today.

I didn't say that - you're confusing me with somebody else.

I said it, not Pilgrim. And I said basically every street corner. Not in the literal sense. Just that they were readily available without much trouble to get. And easier relative to other states. More so than other states like here in Michigan. My sister had the virus over two months ago and she called around to get monoclonals and the earliest she could get in was about 5 days, which would have been right at the effective 10 day window to receive them. I haven’t followed recently the ebbs and flows of the closings of sites in Florida , but apparently were due to supply issues because the Biden Adminstration rationing, a decrease in demand a few months ago because of a significant reduction of cases and so they reallocated their resources to other areas that needed them more.
Some monoclonals may still be effective for omicron:

Well, after taking the Moderna shot plus TWO boosters, my wife just tested positive for Covid omicron. She thought it was a head cold with slight cough, had been using masks and doing the whole Fauci routine. So much for Biden's "pandemic of the unvaccinated".
Wife has officially survived the Omicron variant. Doctor said the didn't need a monoclonal treatment because the didn't have any underlying conditions and had been vaxxed. The whole time it was no worse than a head cold w/cough, of which there are plenty of variations going around right now along with the usual flu. Problem is that people get colds and flu, think they've got covid and rush to the ERs and testing centers overwhelming the system.

I think the at home tests are too expensive for a lot of people to buy too.
Two in a package for $25. Many probably don’t have the money or want to pay the amount. There should be much more tests in a package, imo. Like ten or so. They’re also not easily visible to buy. I went a couple times to drug stores and didn’t see them on their locked glass shelves. I happenstance discovered that they were behind the pharmacy at CVS a couple months ago when I got my booster and asked the pharmacist. Having more tests at a cheaper price might make people want to buy them. They will have them readily available for sniffles, fever, and other cold symptoms that may or not be the virus and test to see.

Not to worry - Biden and his team are coming to the rescue. Free at-home tests will be available to order as of Jan 19th. However, you better order these things before you get sick because delivery time will be an issue. They claim 7-12 days by USPS, but based on past experience it could be 2-3 weeks if they get overwhelmed by demand. And there's the issue of how well the govt-run website will work - hopefully better than the one rolled out for Obamacare.

Monoclonal sites dropped because case loads dropped like a rock

That is simply not true.

Case loads tapered off over a period of better than a month, taking somewhat longer to get to the same level than they did to rise to the peak.

I'll assume that you were not "speaking literally" ... just engaging in hyperbole, perhaps in pursuit of a partisan agenda ?

and there wasn’t a demand.

And DeSantis apparently didn't stockpile them ... in preparation for the surge that FL is now experiencing ?

A year into his presidency does Biden have enough monoclonals for everyone that needs them or are they rationing?

In a pandemic, supply chain issues abound pretty much everywhere.

The feds are responsible for an entire nation.

As a consequence of that, they oversee an equitable distribution to all the states that have a need.

Uncle Joe does not have a magic wand to wave, so that the whiny Governor of Florida - who has failed to push hard to get all his population vaccinated - can receive instant gratification for the Governor's failure to get the residents of his vaccinated and to stockpile monoclonals when he had the chance.
