i don't want to start a who is better rant but this coming from a guy whose company has more vans than we have fleet by more than 2.5-1? i hear the same about panther.

that being said i have had 22 runs in 21 days(incl the one i am on for monday) with one day to go and 6693 loaded miles and 16% deadhead. :D included are 2 cxl runs which were not bolts fault or i would be up another 1000 miles.

please don't sign with bolt. they suck.:p

hey annem does this get me any bolt bucks?

I have been taking a closer look at Bolt, like to keep informed in case I want to make a move and all that. But, I'm getting the information on the new FSC program contained within the new contracts they've been sending out to everyone. After looking at the new program, and talking with some friends who are already on the new FSC, well, consider very carefully the new contract you are about to sign. They gotta pay for that new building addition somehow. :)

well jack it's all apples to oranges,i was speaking only of 3 straight truck drivers i met probably disgruntled, but back to a&o thing you had a great month 304+ ave load on 22 loads-we only had 12 loads all month 16146 loaded & 637 dh thats 1345.5per load - i bet theres a fedx t/t team that doubled our miles? so we need to be clear as to what we are refering to and not just throw out opinons which i did and i apologize for that mis step i will qualify any future statements with the sources.(we had 6873mi in one week and ran out of hours that doesn't happen often-but we can hope)

i was with bolt express for 3 years and i did,nt have to use my savings to run there freight rather they built up my savings to where i was able to strike out on my own so all i can say you either are not a very good bussiness man if you were with bolt or maybe you were just to picky who knows what the reason was or is and no i don,t run for bolt anymore so i can say what i want without fear of reprisal and besides they would,nt care any ways they have a good reputation in the industry so that speaks for it self and noone needs to defend them

hmm guess i cant manage a business either!!! was with them for 3 months and averaged about .70 cents a loaded mile with fuel surcharge with a sprinter, cant say i really like the cat, but i NOOOO what i am being paid before i even think about taking the load...and they dont stroke out when you turn down a bad paying load...its all economics, if ya make money ya stay in business, if ya lose money you are out..

If they have two contracts for vans, might help a prospective driver to know the diffrence between them.
Might be of value as well as to whether there are different contracts for straights and tractors.

never had a complaint and never turned down a load in 2 years then march of 2008 came along and I was turning down 1 in 3 loads. and even the ones I accepted was at the same rate as last year. just not a good sign when fuel is going north and rates are going south.

had a nice run with them but had to call it quits about 6 weeks ago. I am now working from home making 130-150 a day and rising daily with no fuel expense.

Turtle P2 has 4 that I know of for vans.....85cpm....80cpm and the 77cpm and then theres that no Canada one for .75 cpm....that old guy in Laredo was an .85er....Maybe it's just the cpm's are different?

Let me get this straight.

Are you saying that Bolt now has two contracts for vans?

If anyone knows the particulars it would make for a great post.

Panther has more than that. I know one that's still on his old .90 a mile deal. Once you sign a contract with Panther, you stay on it until you leave. They won't come along and force you to sign a new contract like some carriers will. But with Panther, all new contracts that get signed are identical, with the only exception being Canada or No-Canada. Everything else, including escrow and other fees, FSC, accessorials, deadhead pay, stuff like that, are all the same. So yeah, it's just the CPM's that are different. Except, maybe, some of the very old contracts, they might have cheaper fees like Qualcomm, but that's just a guess.

Remember when Panther built their new corporate buildings? That was when they changed the new van contracts from 80 cents to 77 cents.

With Bolt? I'll just say it again, read it carefully before you sign it. There might be many things different about it than the current contract you are on. Many things.

There are many other very important factors to a contract besides you base rate per mile. Sometimes a higher base rate will put you on a different fsc program, as well as a different detention program. Weigh all thing when considering.

I'm with Bolt Express & have not be issued or asked to sign anything new. Freight is definitely slower then a couple of months ago, at least for me. I believe most Companies have their good and bad points. O/O needs to find where he or she is comfortable.
