I know several people that live in Texas. Many of them are old friends of mine from when I was in the "spy business". All are good, solid people.

NOW, if one REALLY wants to see just how high "stuff" can be stacked one only has to look in the White House or the halls of congress.

lmaorof,,,,,,,,,I dont know why , but the statement " when I was in the spy business" is funny to me, not doubting you at all, but the way I can hear you saying it is funny.lol

Sth: I agree with everything Suzanne Venker wrote, except for one thing: that every woman needs a man.
She falls into the same trap she decries: generalizing that the whole is the same for each individual, but it's not, and many women don't 'need' a man.
For much of my life, I did, [kids should have two parents] but I don't now, and I'm doin ok without one.
I've never equated 'equality' with 'identical', BTW - men and women are different, and the way to deal with that is to use each other's strength to complement one's own weaknesses: win/win.
If marriage is becoming more difficult [and geez, it was hard enough before, when I did it!] maybe it's because people don't accurately judge their own weaknesses & strengths.....beats me.

My My....freight must be slow. :) Four pages added in 24 hours....or so?

I do find much humor when people pull versus from the bible, such as Math 7:1. Let's clear the decks on that one. This verse is even misconstrued by a huge number of Christians and simply means in context that we must exercise righteous judgment. Another point being Corinth 1:5

[12] For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
[13] But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Those within the body of Christ are to most certainly judge all things in the church. However, those outside the church/unbelievers are to be left alone for God to judge. This is where shunning comes into play (abused by some churches of course) When someone IN THE CHURCH goes astray, that person is to be cast out from membership for God to judge, and may return following any correction or Holy Spirit blessing.

There is no platform for religious views in this forum, so I will not attempt to create one. However, I do tend to hit the keyboard when religious confusion becomes apparent. Many former homosexuals have come to The Church and the consequent denouncing and regret for that practice is well documented.

Christ did not spend his time chastising homosexuals, drunkards, thieves etc. Just a simple statement will do......you will in no way enter the kingdom of Heaven.

The "Loading Dock" is the forum for religious views. You are welcome to talk religion there. I cannot say what may happen or how it will be answered.

Got it. Comments throughout the thread had touched on certain religious aspects, so no harm in a rebuttal comment?

I must say, after reading this topic in full, the header is appropriate and so true...where o where can I find the original America I know or at least knew and loved so dearly...sad times ahead...sad times.

Sorry, dude, it's gone. And it aint coming back, neither. ;)

And neither has Sodom and Gomorrah.................

Three angels visited Abraham, God's hand-picked founder of his chosen nation, Israel. They came disguised as men, travelers along the road. Two of them went down to Sodom and Gomorrah, to observe firsthand the wickedness in those cities.................

Evil is all around us in today's society, from lying and stealing to pornography, drugs, illicit sex, and violence. God calls us to be holy people set apart, not influenced by our wicked culture. Sin always has consequences.

Do you take sin and God's wrath seriously?

Sad to say.........and it may not happen for Generations and Generations to come......But the Cheris..The Randys....The Witnesses.....IN OUR LIFETIME.....are just the catalyst for what God has in play concerning the future of mankind.

As of today the wonderful folks at HRC, (In)Human Rights Campaign are not satisfied. BSA's decision to admit homosexuals but to leave it up to each individual troop to make their own decision is not enough for them. It doesn't matter that it's far more than the no, not now and not ever that they should have been given. It doesn't matter that if it's going to be done it's the logical way to do it. All that matters is the most radical change possible wasn't affected so they will continue with their assault on BSA.

Yeah, those poor pro death people, so mistreated by the pro life people. And those dam babies, imagine thinking they have the right to live instead of being murdered by those innocent, perfectly reasonable pro death people.

Those "dam babies" don't think anything, because they aren't babies, and they aren't capable of thought.

And speaking of hypocritical, how often have you advocated death for offenses to your sensibilities?

First, I didn't say the babies were thinking, I said imagine thinking the babies have a right to live, which they most assuredly have and which right thinking people do think. Right thinking people also correctly acknowledge they are babies. They aren't magically transformed moments after delivery. Also, the fact they can and do respond to music, to being read to, to their mother's voice for some time in utero does suggest they think. They are miniature people after all.
