Look Leo, there are bigger things to worry about, like the state of Texas deciding to follow Montana's lead in exemption of the federal gun laws. Montana passed a law exemption guns manufactured inside the state and sold inside the state out of the hands of the federal government. The law was signed the other day by the governor and now Texas is following suit but going a step further by exempting not only the guns but also parts and ammo from federal regulations. I hope that Texas finally gets off its butt and moves on some of the rhetoric, we have been disappointed with their inaction in all of this.
See the problem I have with this idea is that the states want to bring this to the supreme court through these new laws but I would say that it would be a mistake because if the court decided against the states, then the states are screwed and the only other option for them is a constitutional convention to clarify state rights under the 10th amendment and limit the power of the court over the states by another amendment nullifying marbury v. madison and defining the federal courts limitations.
Right now 15 states are talking about following Montana in so much as to tell the feds to back off.
The other thing that is happening is a movement to strip the 16th amendment out from under the feds, through the convention clause also, which would stop federal income taxes. I would rather see a serious repeal of the 17th amendment where the states control either the election and recall of the senators directly or the appoint of them.
