    2016 hino 268 code p0404

Thanks for helping with this. The EGR Valve was replaced! An expensive repair, covered by the warranty. Another code popped up today, p20ee, which I think is NOX Sensors. Dropping it off at Hino, hoping for another warranty replacement. Thanks for all the help!

    2016 hino 268 code p0404

Thank you. The engine light did go off. But came back on this morning. I think it may be in limp mode or just has a loss of power. I'll confirm later. The hino Dealer is about 20 miles away. Is it okay to drive it or should I get it towed? Thanks for taking the time to help!!

    2016 hino 268 code p0404

The check engine light came on my 2016 hino 268. No codes displayed. My harbor freight code reader shows code p0404. Google leads me to the egr valve? Is this something that can be cleaned? Any thing else I should check? EGR valves are expensive. I hoping it does not need to be replaced...

    2008 268 Alternator issues

I have a 2008 Hino 268, and the alternator is only putting out about 12.8 volts. The dashboard battery display shows 3 bars, when I believe it usually shows 5. I’ve already replaced the belt, but the voltage hasn’t changed. There are no warning lights or error codes. I’m leaning toward needing...

    dead pedal on 2008 hino..

It’s air brakes.. There is another thread with similar issue. I’m going to look over that. I’ve been tracing wires from the brake switch but can find no nicks are damage. The rear speed sensor wire is damaged so I’m replacing that sensor. Would that cause this issue? thank you Greasy

    dead pedal on 2008 hino..

My 2008 hino just had lots of work done. New injectors, new dpf filer, new fuel pump, and new suction control valve. Despite all the work done sometimes when the truck is in park, drive, reverse or neutral and you hit the peddle nothing happens. It won't rev the engine. It will move if...

    2016 Hino Starter OEM Replacement?

My Hino 268 needs a new starter. Hino sell them for about $1000. I found some oem starters for about $230 but not sure if they will work. The site says they work with 2016 hino 268 but it seems there are some differences. -- The kilowatts for a hino starter is 4.8kw. The oem starter is 3.0...

Whataboutbob did replacing the temp sensors fix the problem? My local hino dealer replaced all my injectors and insists my temp sensors are fine. Just got the truck back and still the bar jump from one to 6. Now they say there is a communication problem. It is electrical. I’m not confident...

    DPF Filter

Breaking those and drilling them out sounds dangerous and risky for me. Such an expensive part! It might be worth trying. I know the dealer will not spend to much time on it. They will just replace it the whole unit. Looks like I have to take some pipes off to spin the turbo by hand...

It was a speed sensor. Hino could not touch it and the truck was sent to Allison. The truck was down for two weeks. I think they only worked on for about an hour.

    DPF Filter

Need to get my DPF Filter cleaned. I can take out the muffler looking thing that holds the filter. My question is do I bring that whole thing to get baked? Or do I need to open it up to access the filter? For last two days we have run the dpr at least 5 times per day. I'm worried this could...
