    OOIDA Members

Why isn't Flying J being sued over hot fuel ? They were the ones mentioned most in the original OOIDA article about a year ago . Funny though , similar articles quoting OOIDA never mentioned Flying J . Evidently Flying J has more powerful attorneys than OOIDA . Before falling for this membership...

    Ice

Just thought you might find this interesting . For a science project a high school student checked the bacteria levels of ice and toilet water from a fast food restaurant . The ice had more bacteria . I read this in the newspaper myself a few months ago .realtechnews.com/posts/2680

    OOIDA BASHING

As stated , this was not an effort by OOIDA alone . What happens when OOIDA takes opposing sides with ATA or PATT ? Has OOIDA gotten any changes on the split sleeper rule ? Have they had it made a law that the person buying the fuel gets the surcharge or even part of it ? I was an OOIDA member...

Meal expenses for days returning home

Thanks for the response , Frank . I used to be able to deduct per diem about 20 days a month . Now I do a lot of deliveries 200 - 300 miles out and am back the same night . I'm only overnight a couple of nights a week now . I sure miss those deductions , especially working 10 or more hours a day...

    Advantages of LLC for partnership

A few things I learned about LLC's . Many states do not recognize LLC's from other states . You will have to pay a fee and register as a foreign LLC in their state . If you are contracted to a carrier this shouldn't be necessary . Your contract is with the carrier . The carrier is doing the...

    Holidays and Birthdays

My family uses the myfamily.com website to keep up with birthdays , anniversaries and news . They charge about $25 a year but if you post birthdays on the calendar notices appear on the homepage a couple of weeks in advance . You can post photos and send them from the site also .

Meal expenses for days returning home

I know you must be away overnight to claim the standard deduction but what about meals purchased on a day trip of 12 hours when you purchase one or more meals on the road and return home the same day ? Are any deductions allowed on these trips ?

    Canada Crossing the line...

This may be a worthwhile service but drivers with questions should have their dispatch check their eligibility first . I had a 20 year old misdemeanor conviction and noted it on my application . Dispatch knew the ministry to call in Canada and verified I could enter with no problem . No fees ...

    Did you vote?

My wife and I voted . The dieseltruckresource.com forum had a poll and surprisingly over 23% did not vote . My opinion is that if uninformed voters choose not to vote it is for the better . It's unfortunate that the majority of campaigns are based on mudslinging and voters feel they have to pick...

    love it

Drug dealers , prostitutes and such buy stuff too . Pretty nice stuff . A comsumption tax would make them pay tax they are avoiding now . I supported Neal Boortz and his Fair Tax until I heard him ridiculing a "born again " Christian on his radio show . He asked , " You were born again ? Did you...
