D/C expects the Chrysler group to lose $1.6 billion this year . They say the are not ruling out selling Chrysler off . I wonder how that would affect the Sprinter .

    Speed limiters on trucks

Good points were made at limiting at a higher speed but not 68 . I wrote to " The Trucker " and I also mentioned trucks that have limiters being the worst offenders in zones of 55 m.p.h. or less . I also said driving 5 m.p.h or more slower than the flow of traffic would make it more difficult to...

Most of you probably drive under 68 m.p.h. anyway but do you agree limiting all trucks manufactured to 68 m.p.h. would increase safety ? "The Trucker " newspaper is inviting comments from drivers . Contact [email protected]

    new at this

Most U-Hauls have automatic transmissions and aren't maintained very well . Check with Ryder . You can practice with a non-CDL straight truck but after you have rented that from them ask if they have a truck of sinilar size over 26,000 lb. GVW you could rent for the road test .

    Ricky Carmichael signs NASCAR deal.

There's a lot more to it than the car . The pit crew is very important . Lose a second or two on a couple of pit stops and it'll cost you the race . If it's so much the car why is the Petty team making a better showing with Bobby Labonte driving ? I agree the car is more of a factor than it once...

    Adding a liftgate

Buying a used liftgate can save you a lot . I once worked for a corrugated company that got a U-Haul contract that required liftgates . All the liftgates were bought used and got heavy use . They were on 45' trailers that made 5 or 6 stops a day . We never had a problem with them .

    Is this a good idea?

Getting your own authority is too expensive to do on a part time basis . Go to hotshothauling.com and check out the How To topic for authority info . Much of the info there also can be applied to expediting or what you have in mind .

CDL Online Help - Worth the money ???

Here in KY they won't let you take the written test for HAzmat until you pass the background check . If it's that way in your state you'll have plenty of time to study while waiting for the background check . Mine took 5 weeks .

    Wire barriers in median

    >My guess would be tailgating wont be an issue the next time >after they mess up once. The state assumes your not to >tailgate so there is no issue. Tailgating happens and people aren't attentive to sudden stops in the passing lane . But the real danger is to vehicles losing power due to...

    GAS VS DIESEL

    >Which one requires the most maintenance? and more easier and >less expensive to fix? that would make my mind up. Chevy put the Duramax engine in the vans about a year ago . That would be a good choice for now . Starting in '07 diesel vehicle prices are going to jump considerably for the...

    Wire barriers in median

Some states are putting wire barriers in the median to prevent vehicles from crossing the median if the driver falls asleep or is involved in an accident .( A report states the barriers probably won't stop a large truck ) . My concern is the way these barriers are being installed on I-44 in...

$10,000 a month may not be enough to pay for a 2006 truck and make a living . Even if the truck is paid for or you made a sustantial down payment you have to allow for replacing it .
