It would be standard assuming you are getting 100 percent of the fuel surcharge. Think I would ask to make sure.

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

The threshold in my opinion will hit in the second year and beyond. For example, a driver in the second year that makes 50k, will pay a 1,000 dollar fine based on 2 percent. And of course it increases after that. Additionally, many of the lower (bronze) plans carry a deductible of 12k plus...

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

What I don't like with the new plans I seen is providing coverage for items that I would never use. Why should I pay for that? As of 2014 I will have coverage for pregnancy, mental health, drug addiction, dental, optical, for kids, and a handful of other items including womens birth control...

Health Insurance for Expediters; What do You See?

Ours will go up in premiums about 40 percent. Most due to covering items we wouldn't even use, like mental health, pregnancy, services for children and the list goes on. We carry a high deductible but we use that in concert with a HSA plan that I have had since 04.

Your Insurance Costs, What Do You See?

Personally, I take all the insurance regardless of what it is for and dump it in one big pot. In otherwords, what is my costs and exposure for pretty much everything.

You will have some limitations if say you are doing a team with two different people. You are correct in that I don't hire people in that pool but there are some that do and have a truck with two beds. All of our trucks are more of a custom variety and have one large bed instead of two. Some...

Quite a few (not all) will take a new team on and pay them the same as the experienced. I am talking specifically expediting. Solos....not so much. Based on your information, probably better off with a decent smaller fleet owner that can pay them more and give them better individual attention...

If your revenue increased as suggested, and the only difference is whether they would call to confirm whether a load was good, wouldn't that appear to be taking advantage of the new folks and paying them less?

    Unconditional income

I don't question for a minute your friends struggles and I think that was the case for many and still might be. The sixty minute story was based on such a huge upswing this year on approved applicants. Many are bogus claims and many are using it as a vehicle for income when unemployment runs...

Not knowing anything about ES, how do they pay .48 per mile at the Fed? That is 40 percent of only 1.20. I thought the Fed paid much better than that? Maybe not?

    Unconditional income

Disability is roughly six months according to sixty minutes report last week. That is using a disability attoney that can move a case quick with their own doctors. That was the whole premise of the story. With regards to welfare, Fox did an hour show on a guy from Los ANgeles where they...

Unemployment yes...you paid in to it. Most that have a lifestyle of welfare, not so much. That is why I personally think there should be a limit on the amount of benefits drawn. It's a Team's Life Government Shutdown: It's a Teams Life

That may be the case for many. Not so much this year because you are at $95.00 a person or one percent which ever is greater. As those dollar amounts and percentage climb every year is where you will see the problems.
