CSA 2010 - The Elephant in the Room

Good Post Phil Looks like the DOT may not need as many officers if they try to weed out the so called bad drivers. Less trucks on the road means less road taxs and money for the states. Which in turn means less DOT officers are needed for the job.

Yes your right it's worth it for you, but not for the fleet owner who pays for fuel.

TA Fuel Discount is no more

Some of the TA truck stop only give .04 a gallon. I had one truck get $1.80 off for 57 gallons. I can go to the Pilot and get it .10 cheaper, then still get a .05 discount and get a .15 total discount verse getting .04 total from the TA. So where is the discount really.

TA Fuel Discount is no more

I just made a call to to there customer service line in regards to there so called fuel discount. With nine trucks leased on with Panther and having a owners comdata cards I can see the discount we get. It's not worth getting fuel at the TA anymore if they only give you a .08 fuel discount off...

TA Fuel Discount is no more

I have used TA for the last few years because of the discount. But the discount is so small that the Flying J is looking better for our trucks now that they take Comdata. If you are still paying more at the Ta with the discount than the cash price is at the Flying J why go there.

    Good versus bad

As a Fleet Owner I can say I have seen almost everything you can think of a driver doing. We like to keep our drivers happy for the most part because a truck sitting cost you money. We ask them to sign a contract so they know where we stand and ask of them. I have held a drivers last settlement...

    New Panther Lease-Purchase Program

It's a $1.40 for loaded miles only. The .10 is for every mile the truck does I was told. The FCS would be what ever the customer gets charged. Panther gives the O/O 100% of the FSC.

    New Panther Lease-Purchase Program

Don't hold me to it, but our driver was told you get $1.40 per mile then your lease payment and everything is taken out.

    New Panther Lease-Purchase Program

Some good questions Greg. Our one tractor driver is checking into it. He said the rate he would get would be $1.40 per mile plus FSC. So we now will be looking for a driver for our tractor or we may have to move it to another company.
