Do you have a favorite truck stop?

I don't have a favorite because none seem to offer everything I want. Flying J: Large, van friendly parking lots. Usually have trees on the perimeter and some on island within the lot. Nice for shade. But no Floscan or Trippak Scanning. Tasteless coffee and if the gas pump island has paper...

I agree with Scuba, they may have done you a favor. When you e-mailed the recruiter you should have copied someone in management so they would be aware of the situation.

Randy I was two blocks away from you. I fueled at the Road Ranger about 17:00 Wednesday night. Came in and left from the north so I never went by the J.

    straight trucks & truck stops

This question may be better suited for the Miss Manners column. What is proper etiquette for sharing a single parking space. If you pull into a lot and see a straight truck or bobtail parked at the front of a single slot is it permissible to park behind them if there is adequate room?

    Truck Stops

The I-55 Truck Stop at exit 257 is closed! I had a transfer there a couple of weeks ago only to find huge concrete barriers blocking the entrance. Did the swap at the BP across the street. I don't think that dump will be missed.

    Hopin' you're all doing well...

panthercub, thank you for sharing your story. Not many are willing to post their failures. In hind sight would you have been better off driving for an owner for a short time to learn the ropes? It's hard to make money driving a van for someone else. But it would free you from van payments...

    new reefer business

This sounds exactly like a product from the early 1990's called the Pallet Reefer. At that time I was an employee of a Conway LTL company. Conway had entered into a venture with the inventor of the Pallet Reefer, investors and a manufacturer. We ran the Pallet Reefers for less than a year...
