    Sprinter Tires

raynchk, before you put new tires on have the front end alignment checked. You should be doing better than 45,000 miles no matter what the brand tire. I don't rotate my tires even though my tire guy does it for free. I do once at about 60-70,000 miles when I buy new rears and bring the old...

    Going to Green Bay

My advice to anyone attending this game: DRESS WARM! It is -19 in Minneapolis as I type. The cold air is headed Green Bay way, if it isn't there already. Can you imagine catching an elongated bowling ball thrown by Bret Farve in below zero temperatures. The field could be littered with digits.

    allison transmission

A transmission is only part of the driveline equation. Rear end gear ratio is another factor. Like Phil stated, Allison transmissions are common in city use vehicles. You may be limited to a 4.10 or lower gear ratio in which case your fuel economy would definitely suffer. Check with your...

With a little help from my friends

Greg, the little green square means that you are on a distinguished road. I also am on a distinguished road even though it doesn't appear on my Rand McNally atlas. Maybe we will meet? I'll buy the coffee now that I'm rich!

    Cargo Van: Side Door Loading

Jay if you are dealing with standard 4-way pallets, 48" x 40" Then they will fit with 4 inches to spare. The real questions are; is the forklift operator competent enough to load with only 2" of clearance either side and how many hydraulic sandwiches were consumed at lunch. I had I guy put a...

    Cargo Van: Side Door Loading

When I first started in expediting I drove a company owned short Ford. I used the side door once to unload a p.o.s. pallet that collapsed while loading. My first Chevy had swing doors and my current Chevy was ordered with a sliding door. I prefer the slider. On the newer GM's the side door...

Mitt Romney, champion of the working man

"By sqandering so much of our treasure on "his"war,we are much weaker as a nation, with a military that is stretched so very thin." "His war"? President Bush was able to declare war on Iraq without consent from the congress or the senate? Oh yeah, he misled them and duped the smartest woman in...

    Truck Vacuum

Phil, I have the larger Ultra Shark 110 volt canister model that I use on our wood and tile floors at home. It to is bagless and has a screen covering the pleated filter. Using compressed air to clean the filter makes a huge difference in the performance. If your truck is plumbed for an...

Mitt Romney, champion of the working man

"Those of us who pegged W as a potenial leaderless zombie wandering around the Whitehouse in a clueless dream state certainly understand pain, believe me!" At least President Clinton was focused, had a pudendum and wanted to get a head. A true leader and visionary! Plus he hated rich dudes...

    Panther Macro 8 being changed?

yeah Ark that's macro 8. You could access it 3 times per day. Even if it didn't give you any info it counted as a usage. I sure hope they get the new macro 8 up and running Monday and that it gives information in real time and unit size specific. This could be a valuable tool if done right.

    Reimbursement for Generator

It would be nice to see this program taken to the federal level either in the form of a direct rebate or a special income tax deduction.

    Reimbursement for Generator

The grant program also stipulates that the trucks must operate 50 percent of their total running time in New Jersey. That requirement, Toth says, is difficult to meet, considering New Jersey’s geography and the relatively small size of states surrounding the Garden State. That could be a tough...

    Anyone else heard about Starbucks?

Several years ago we bought my brother-in-law Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee for Christmas. Delicious coffee, but at $40 a pound way over priced. Now that I am rich I may buy some for myself. Heck, I just might buy Jamaica! What you think mon?

Until I read TC's post which included "It has to do with the fact that after 7 years nothing has been accomplished for the working class. The tax cuts have benefited the rich..." referring to President Bush, I had always considered myself a middle cl**** middle of the road kind of guy. Bush's...

    Pick a-day part 3..

Mike, what caused the painful expression on your face in the photo from the Coke place at Epcot? Did you happen to partake of the non-alcoholic Italian aperitif called Beverly? It's an acquired taste. A combination of Aqua Velva, tonic water and Lysol. My family thinks I'm nuts to drink it...
