As a cargo van driver, I was always curious...how do you guys make money? I heard when diesel was up it cost 80 cents a mile just for fuel, and the per mile rate isnt that much more than vans... HOS limits your range, repairs and tows cost a fortune, not to mention insurance...cost of...

Well I pay less than 2000 for vans, do all my own maintenance (trans went, switched out my spare in the driveway in t dark) and 500 miles costs me 35-45 in fuel...maintenance runs me another 1 or 2 thousand, then I scrap van after 2 years...don't get me wrong I do admire you guys sipping coffee...

How about anyone with a 5.4 ford in the standard cargo? I was on the Ford trucks website and found a lot of reports of 13 mpg hwy ouch!

Good advice, now that you mention it, in the last few years I've seen a lot of pulled over cubes, and pickup/trailers...felt immune to it in the normal cargo van
