    FECC New DIspatch System

What a confusing thread. Just an outsider looking in, but if everyone "dials 0", how does that make this type of system faster? It would seem the same as they have now? Unless of course that zero option is unavailable on the cell load offers. Just an observation on something I know little about.

    Bid Boards

That is correct on having to have a 24/7 dispatch and respond to all of the loads. That isn't a requirement to haul one, just if you are bidding directly with them. The only time I believe they would send a email out would be if it passed through all of their partners and they all declined it...

    Stop Smoking Now!!!

I think it is basically an issue of responsibility. I am a "closet smoker". I don't smoke in our cars, home, trucks, motels and the like. But I might have one outside, in a bar, or maybe a casino. Is that infringing? Maybe, maybe not. If one smells smoke or knows of a establishment that...

How Does it Feel to Buy Fuel?

How long are you willing to accept loads (one after another) that only produce enough of an advance to pay for the fuel required to complete the run. Then what, you wait for a settlement for the rest of the run pay. Do you worry about acceptance ratings that could work against you...

    Food for Thought

That is the reality. Folks that broker freight already know this. It isn't exactly a secret. Many folks will bid that same load and almost every time it will be hauled for a higher rate than the company contractor would be awarded. If drivers of a particular company turn down a 1.50 load for...

    Food for Thought

There you go. I seldom respond to some of the posts of that nature, but I have seen a few lately from folks that are so misinformed. As you found out, the broker freight even get 100 percent of the fsc, rather than just a part of it.

    Food for Thought

I think what cracks me up is that many Fedex folks think they are hauling some type of prestigious freight. Little do they know that many of us are hauling the same thing for a higher rate. Especially the ones that keep saying, broker freight doesn't pay". I laugh my behind off every time we...

    Bid Boards

Get your own authority and proper insurance, and you then contact them. Pretty much the same at the Fed and several others.

    Joke of the day

No problem, I quess I could be flexible to 600 on 200 miles if I can throw another load with it. Remember.......flexiblity is the key.

    Joke of the day

I think a couple hundred miles for the 650 is reasonable.

    Joke of the day

If it is a partial going 2300 miles for 650 dollars, I would have said yes. "Snce it is a partial, I will take it part way." Have to be flexible:)

In your opinion who are the 5 largest expedite carriers?

Anything is possible. We have recieved several calls over the past month from folks looking to bail. Most seem to be severely upside down in their truck loans.

In your opinion who are the 5 largest expedite carriers?

I don't know Steve? I took a gander through the EO classifieds and I see a much different picture. Don't see a lot of drivers/owners doing broker loads with their truck for sale or looking for drivers. I do see trucks doing exclusive expedite in both catagories of "looking for drivers or...

    In the olden days...

At that time, they were on the lower tier rate wise compared to the other stuff we were running. We did do a few runs in those days for them.

It is so amazing how much things have changed. Some of these companies now remind me of Auto-Quik:eek:
