2010 has come in with a BANG!

What is a reduced rate offer at E-1? I thought they were 1.12 or something for a straight.

    Panther Orientation

I think I will go with the advice Leo gave. Talk to the recruiter and then do some research on here to determine the accuracy of the information along with talking to some current and past drivers. Most would do that seeking employment, I fail to see why one wouldn't do it here. Most every...

    Getting body repairs paid for.

If black ice was the cause, a insurance company will deem that avoidable. My other thoughts still stand. You didn't have a confirmation via fax or letter of intent on the actual repair cost amount. As an after thought, some of the issue may be in the police report if they only indicated front...

    Getting body repairs paid for.

Might be a tough one. It sounds like you authorized the repairs prior to recieving a check or confirmation from the insurance company as to the total agreed repair amount. Having one place that did the estimate and then did the repairs is another assuming the insurance comapny didn't send a...

    Should I go for it?

Percentages don't mean anything. Need to know what the percentage is based on.

    Should I go for it?

All good advice. May be worth your while to have this guy provide you with two current and or past drivers phone number. The concern would be whether he can keep you rolling. Some are good at it, and some are totally worthless. Remember, "Trust, but verify".

    Rent To Own!!

Thanks for the plug. There are many folks here that give great advice. In my opinion that is one of the greatest things about this site that many have benefited from.

    Panther Orientation

I wouldn't read too much into someone taking his/her Panther pom-poms. Sounds like someone that got disqualified for failing a drug, background, or DOT physical and released before lunch. Kinda of a bummer if it was barbecue No need to complicate the simple. ;)

    Logging off duty for breaks

The driver controls when, where, and how long they want to break. As a fleet owner I don't do anything to determine that. The drivers have to follow HOS rules where applicable, but those requirements are set by the government rather than the carrier or fleet owner.

    EORB Concerns fromthe FedEx forum

If they charge a additional $70.00 a month for TVAL trucks, it is likely the direct up link for the probes in the box. That way they can monitor temps continuously through a load. 840 a year plus qc charges sounds a little steep if that is a accurate number. 2660 off each TVAL unit per year is...

    EORB Concerns fromthe FedEx forum

If I remember right, the 30 minute conveyance and .7 movement amount was from the original prototype program that Werner Enterprises had. I am guessing (no facts) that these were numbers provided by the FMCA. If a team, realistically you could use an hour figuring 30 minutes per driver. The...

    EORB Concerns fromthe FedEx forum

I don't believe whether I am driving or not is a prerequisite to evaluate the performance of the ones in our fleet. I know how to use them and get feedback on a daily basis across all of our trucks. With regards to Panther board positions, you are correct in that they are a mess. No real value...

    Looking

It depends. They could take it over from the finance company if there credit isn't shot. There may be monies due to bring it to a current payoff balance? The other option would be to lease purchase it from the owner but that carries some risk. Even more so in this case because if he is...

    EORB Concerns fromthe FedEx forum

I think some of their questions would be better answered and served by posting them in the general. That way they could have some concerns addressed by other carriers with a similar setup. It seems some of the fears just feed off each other because of the ignorance of a new system.

    EORB Concerns fromthe FedEx forum

After reading all the panic on their forum, I think in the end they should be happy if it generally mirrors the program Panther has which I believe it does based on the limited information posted. We have used these for several years now, and have had little problems. Same wave of panic happened...
