Tough situation. Rather than having it repoed, the owner could consider throwing a additional axle on it. A little shopping and you could find a used one at the very least.

    Hino "D" unit

If you like them, then that is all that matters. If you are climbing a hill in 3rd or fourth gear, how fast are they going?

Gee....I better go buy a Hino before it is too late.

    Hino "D" unit

Re: Hino "Diggin" unit Not sure what you are basing that assumption on? I don't believe truck manufacturers have any bearing one way or the other on the rates. I could buy a used 20k KW that would run circles around a Hino.

Might be on to something. If it is the same people who put that ridiculous board program together (likely the same) then it might be awhile for the completion.

    Hino "D" unit

I would do a search as there are a lot of issues with these trucks. As mentioned, the biggest problem is trying to use them in a OTR application which they aren't designed for. There is a reason they have a cheap price whether new or used. Get what you pay for.

i have question .should i stay or should i go

The leads wouldn't matter if they are good or bad. With four kids and a wife, my opinion would be to stay put as others have suggested. I think you and your family would be better served by you finding something part-time locally than doing anything over the road.

    Panther QC

I have heard everything from updating the system to changing portals to adding GPS etc. in the trailers. Everyone should get a rebate depending on what they are paying. Kinda like rates, what is charged I think varies between owners. That 35 a week if you are paying that is a carrier profit...

Does sound kind of confusing. Looks like you have two other issues as well. If that 69k is the payoff, he paid way too much for that thing to begin with. The other issue doesn't address the amount of axles. If it is a single axle, it has no weight capabilities with that set up. Then again, that...

    One of my worst fears

I wouldn't worry too much. See if you get paid. If not, contact the place you delivered and see if they paid the bill. And of course, get all necessary information along with NAMES. If they paid it is easily proven, then you should get paid, or you will find you are working for a bunch of...

Courtje sent out a email. You may want her to update it if you are looking for a reefer truck as that isn't listed. Then again, if you want to buy one, there is a Fed owner selling 3 or 4 reefers in the EO classifieds.

Bill Haslam CEO of Pilot T/S

I hope he doesn't plan to run the state like he does those Pilot truck stops. High price fuel that subsidizes large carriers might be a sign of how he would govern. Most Pilots are dumps in themselves.

    Synth back to Mineral

Your biggest issue based on your post is using a gallon of oil per 2500 miles of driving. That is high. I would recommend doing a cutout on that engine and possibly a compression test. Even though it isn't leaking on the ground, there could be several places you are having issues. Internal...

    Question About Electronic Logs

DOT can look I think a week back on the QC and we can hit button enter the scale # and they get faxed to that location. In two years it has been requested once or twice a crossed our trucks. If you have no signal, it will update when it gets one. As far as moving around and not under load, we...

    Who's killing the rates?

I think what really happens is somewhere in the middle. I agree with when a bid is awarded, a certain degree of service is expected. In Charles case a known entity won out over someone the carrier had little or a poor experience with. So service does sell in some cases. The bad news is for...

    Who's killing the rates?

Hard to tell. May have had a Panther driver agree/demand to do it for $400. They throw out 380 to see if someone will do it cheaper. If they get it covered from the broker, they just tell the driver its covered. If you do that all day, it starts to add up. Same thing with nameless carriers that...
