Less Than a Buck to laredo

It will affect me and everyone else IF the rates are getting more discounted to the customer. If not and they are just offering less to their contractors it won't unless they start migrating to where I am at. . Currently I haven't seen a drop in any broker rates from the Fed or other carriers...

FSC-Why don't companies pay 100% of it to us?

If I recall, you guys could opt out of the flate rate FSC program and take .62 or .59 percent of the FSC. I believe that was posted when that was implemented but can't remember by who unless I did some searching. They have a elective flat rate program where we are at and we ran the numbers for...

I am using Steves example of when a load offer is low, he indicates what he will do it for. I wouldn't think he would be the only one. The simplest load program could decipher the offers in seconds and determine the cheapest one regardless of the initial amounts sent out. With regards to...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

I think the term "bid war" is just a difference in terminology. What they are referring to is using maybe Steve's example. If they shoot the dollar a mile load out, he buts in the reason section what he would do it for. Logic would say others are likely to do the same or maybe not at all...

FSC-Why don't companies pay 100% of it to us?

That may be totally true as I would have no idea. All I can look at is ones that left one for the other and did they go back? Nothing scientific by any means.

I wouldn't have expected a lot of DH out of the Chicago area. I am still shocked that with a WG reefer truck you have to settle or even be offered loads at 1.14 or less. Especially more than 14 of them. Certainly is a myth buster. As someone already mentioned, that would explain all the reefer...

FSC-Why don't companies pay 100% of it to us?

At the end of the day it just depends on whether you are getting 100 percent of the FSC. Many people left carriers that went to a flat rate system and went to greener pastures and didn't return to the flat rate specials. Was it a wise move? One can only look at the results.

Less Than a Buck to laredo

Since I am not there, I can't comment on the individual stuff unless something specific is posted but regardless as to what types of loads they are would it seem odd to be in a WG truck and be waiting 48 hours for a load in Chicago. Even more so at the end of the week. I am guessing they were...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

I would agree with that. Not sure in this instance if they send out the 14 loads under a buck a mile as posted and they are in Chicago, it would seem odd they all would have huge DH on them. I could be wrong.

Less Than a Buck to laredo

I guess this is a confirmation of what the original poster said. Kind of surprising considering you are talking the Chicago area. Since I am not at the Fed, their process only has a interest in that I wouldn't want it based on the provided information from their drivers. Don't need to be at the...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

That makes total sense. Now the question becomes, are they sending under a buck a mile loads just to certain trucks? In this case, 14 to be exact. Don't know as I am not there. But IF they are, and send those type of loads out, and then as suggested, you must tell them the rate in which you will...

FedEx Custom Critical vs Panther Expedited

I think you Steve would be a exception with the use of newbies and or students. With regards to running two people that aren't related is a game of roulette. Doesn't mean you won't find a good team, but the odds sure seem against you. The 60/40 is a more financially rewarding program to the...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

If this dispatch type system had no other motivation other than speed as some would suggest, would it not make more sense to have the driver indicate the rate in which he will run so they are not constantly bothered by foolish load offers? How does one sleep with that going on? My guess is...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

If you are shooting out loads that are cheap as posted to multiple trucks, what would be the purpose other than to get it covered for a cheap rate? 14 loads under a buck a mile through a day as posted? Are you kidding me? The purpose is clear.

Less Than a Buck to laredo

Not seeing it that way. When loads are booked and you have numerous trucks in a area, there is no benefit in speed to get it covered. If it is a decent load, they know they are going to cover it. That decision is totally price driven. What would be the purpose of using this to send a load...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

I don't know if they would care either way. The minute they put in a dispatch system that pits drivers against each other in a bid war, this is the end result. The stories from a year ago that defended this nonsense never seen the big picture. Looks like they are seeing it up close and...

Less Than a Buck to laredo

Think I would put up those purple pom-poms at those rates. Then again, maybe they need that extra cash from drivers to fund their $1000 dollar sign on bonus.

    Qualcomm Charges

$30 to $40 a month would be a very reasonable charge as I think most would agree. Many carriers including my own charge 25 to 35 PER WEEK. Huge difference between 25-35 per week verses 35-40 a month. About $100 extra per month per unit.

FedEx Custom Critical vs Panther Expedited

Steve, Unless it is in the truckload industry, I don't think it is too common in expedite to have a experienced o/o wanting to take on a student unless it is more of a personal relationship. We only hire same household teams but not necessarily for just the financial part of it. Our...

    Where's all the trucks?

Can't comment on your specific case, but whomever is paying the fuel should get all of the FSC. That is the whole purpose of it anyway.
