Its a team world at Panther

Very little. And if it is any length of time it is because they fried up all their hours and are trying to reset.

Its a team world at Panther

Lot of preloads. Especially up in that area.

Its a team world at Panther

Teams have always been the priority since the HOS changed. Who is closest to the freight is more important than board postion or anything like that. In fact, I wouldn't even pay any attention to it. Then again, it may be because they think you can't make the pickup in time with a Hino...

Rates are going up....are you getting yours?

So far it seems to be holding.

    Going Public

That is correct. Purchase of other companies are a component in those numbers amongst a whole host of other things.

    Going Public

Just as predicted. I said when Fenway bought them they would go public at the 5 year mark. And sure enough.

    Is it just me?

    I can't argue that.

Moving forward to your own authority…

Makes total sense. If someone wanted to "simplify" their life, this would seem much easier than battling constant load offers that aren't profitable.

    Is it just me?

One thing for certain, if a lot of time is spent turning down low offers and responding to loads that are awarded to other trucks, you guys should get something to compensate for all that time and inconvenience.

Moving forward to your own authority…

A model of looking at the loads can be found at Landstar. That of course are there own loads. If you have many "members" in a area, how and who would determine what load is awarded? You could have a bid process, but that would mirror working off of load boards. Or it would seem. In my case...

    Is it just me?

I am not with the Fed, but I can tell you that the broker rates they put up are competitive. If I was to venture a guess, with less trucks they are brokering more freight than previous years. Since a outside carrier hauls it for more, they possibly have to subsidize that internally to maintain...

Moving forward to your own authority…

Panther and Landstar come close, but you have to supply your own loads. If someone else is providing the loads, then you are essentially the carrier or a broker.

    Bentz is now spelled Bolt.....

Thanks for the clarification. A fair minded person would have read in your post that you specifically mentioned Double Eagle. That addition in your post wouldn't apply to your quote of "WG drivers and fleet owners drive the after market sleepers".

    Broker own loads?

I broker through Panther. I or anyone else can broker loads and use their authority if leased to them. They charge 15 percent for that service.

    Bentz is now spelled Bolt.....

I don't believe it is in reference to a class 8 verses a 7. I believe he is referring to the fact that Phil claimes the sleeper aftermarket industry is only supported by WG drivers and fleet owners. I don't see anything that indicates they "drive" the market.

    Broker own loads?

I'll give you a quick answer as I don't want to interrupt the water controversy.:D What it means is the rates are generally higher than the base rates offered by most carriers. As Bruno found out hauling a few of my loads, broker loads through a carrier will usually pay much higher than what...

    Bentz is now spelled Bolt.....

That is a interesting statistic seeing that double eagle only did a handful of Fedex trucks. The bulk of the aftermarket is for 18 wheelers that aren't related to expediting.

    Broker own loads?

I wouldn't be too hard on poor Phil. He is probably exhausted from responding to numerous cheap load offers and ones that are awarded to other trucks.

    Water Pump Life

Hard to tell. We have had some go to your mileage all the way past the million mark. If you have to change the fan clutch or anything, that is a good time to consider this as labor will be a little cheaper since it is already taken apart.

    Another Life After FedExCC

I would think the ones that are vocal with what changes are needed is more of a benefit rather than suffering in silence.
