    Another Panther First

You likely weren't under a load and calling during the third shift. Sometimes it dumps to that message if no one is in that relations department. If under load, it will go straight to dispatch.

    shower in truck

We have them in our trucks and in the winter we are never up north that long. Fill in the south and reload on the return trip. It seems once drivers have it, they won't go back.

    One more against the ACLU

Probably an easier solution. Just make the drug test voluntary. If they don't want it, then they have to work to recieve their benefits after a certain period of time.

    Question about fuel surcharge

The contracted pay of 1.30 to 1.35 plus fsc is probably accurate. What doesn't work in this deal is 45 percent of the gross and paying for fuel. Look for another owner that is more in line with either the 60/40 plus 100 percent of the FSC or 40 percent with the owner getting the FSC and paying...

    Metro Express America

There is a Metro Expedite out of Saint Louis that I have done loads with. There is a Metro parcel out of Detroit as well. Not familiar with them. There are links on the homepage to both.

    Rate per mile?

Very possible. I'm sure there was a huge rush on that 1.12 a mile special.

    Rate per mile?

Pretty sad numbers. Those look like numbers of dying a slow death. E1 is a profitable outfit but it appears they keep a lot more than they should. By the time you take the fuel out, they are running at essentially van rates. I gues that is why they refused to say in the recruiter section what...

Is this where you send your check to the preacher on TV and he sends you the dashboard plastic Jesus?

    Rate per day?

Lot of factors would go in to this type of call. If in a remote area, you almost have to give it consideration even though the 500 per day is likely below the average threshold. And of course where it is going. Dispatch on a Friday for a Tuesday pickup is certain to get scrapped. I would...

    Rate per mile?

Rates for Panther on a straight are anywhere from 1.20 to 1.75 plus FSC. Depends on whether a truck has a gate or reefer. Several different contracts move between those numbers. Flat raters I beleive are at 1.10. Not sure if that is a current number. FSC seems to be somewhere around .35 to...

    Rate per mile?

There is usually an unfavorable reason that a carrier won't disclose their rates. Or......"you have to call". Usually a code phrase for some BS we would like to throw at you. Seeing a lot of carriers over the last couple of years saying one thing, but paying much less. As for DH, Panther...

    From the dark side..............

The value of your information is to provide assistance to folks at your carrier as to whether they should participate in their flat rate program. My numbers from another carrier would have little value for that exercise. That is the whole point. If your numbers are accurate and are that much...

    From the dark side..............

Bingo! Someone finally gets it from the Fed. All the mystical stories mean little unless you have ALL the numbers. Not just a part of them so someone feels good. Think I have mention this a time or two........"It isn't what your making, its what you keep". Make no mistake about it. It is no...

Flat rate vs Percentage dry box. Part 3,456.

Linder is correct. I would look at things differently because I am looking at a whole operation, verses a single truck. There would be some differences. That dreaded phrase, ROI and all that it entails goes into how I do things. A single truck may not even look at that as we have found from...
