The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

I understand your point and it is a tough situation. Your reason is exactly why I post about these types of changes. It is always easier to make changes when appropriate verses doing them under duress.

The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

In their eyes, maybe not volunteering information is not viewed as a act of dishonesty? Don't know. Also, for the thought that "any one can do this" is somewhat true. It is also true that anyone can fail. A look at repo lots over the last two years might mean something as well?. I am sure...

The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

Not quite sure why Phil put one of his admirers on "ignore" but maybe from stress with all the changes. They are certainly changing their business model and I hardly think one has to be leased there to see it. It has been taking shape for some time. As for a "sinking Titanic". Not so sure...

The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

This all started several years ago with changing the FSC and percentages. Can't say they weren't warned. Purple haze I guess. One thing has become clear, that ones that are running a high gross revenue, may be keeping very little of it. "It is not what you make, it is what you keep".

    $1.40 per mile?

Seems more like a base rate without the FSC.

    $1.40 per mile?

Well I wasn't sure after reading those posts. Every one's cost to operate will vary, but I was surprised that was interpreted as a "not a great run" but "a good one". If one was adding this to a load already on the truck it might be ok, but it just kind of surprised me.

    $1.40 per mile?

Really just a question for the members. Read in the Fedex forum a debate on whether a $1.40 per mile FSC included is a "good rate" for a run that is say 1000 miles and stays in the freight lanes. This is figuring a standard dry van load. Thought it may be a misprint but maybe not, so I...

    Contract Questions

Agree with the others. Sounds like a scam.

MBE 4000 Head Gasket Replacement cost?

Not familiar with that engine but I would say somewhere around 8 to 10 hours, plus parts. I would probably confirm as well it isn't a EGR problem. May be a good time for a rebuild if they are going to go that far into it and being a 06.

    Express 1 Buyout

    My thoughts exactly.

    Express 1 Buyout

Their rates to the customer are fairly competitve. I think they will work the logistic side pretty hard. If they try to grow the expedite side, they will have to do something with the bargain rates to the contractors, or bid high and broker them out. If not, they will remain stagnant and have...

    Express 1 Buyout

Very true but they did pass the controlling interest to the new folks.

    Express 1 Buyout

That is why you didn't get your "dime" back. Rates never really dropped, just what they paid the owner operators. Have to look good on paper if you are trying to sell it. I guess you can take comfort in the fact you help facilitate a sale.

    Express 1 Buyout

Look for a new recruiting station in Laredo.

    Express 1 Buyout

I think it was a smart move on their part. They have just about squeezed all they could out of the o/o's with bargain rates. I think I would look to dump it as well while it still has a value.

    Interesting Opportunity

No idea on pay, but it was described as more route work than anything else. Probably mileage and per stop fee.

    Interesting Opportunity

Not sure of its accuracy, but another carrier told me that these are some type of retail/mall runs for a UPS contract.

    FECC Recruitment Web Page Failure

Ok...I'll try it. If a load went to Montana, why would one DH back to Los Angeles? I guess it goes to say as well that I can't imagine taking a load from San Diego to Montana for 1500.

    On Spot Automatic Chains

We like the others carry chains but never use them. Can't say we have had a truck stuck either, but there is a first time for everything. Not sure auto chains would be in our future. With the abundance of freight, I think it makes more sense to take freight where chains aren't even needed.
