The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

I don't doubt that for a minute. From the reliability stand point, the older trucks in our fleet are more durable than the new. Most of that is attributed to the DPF regen systems. Total waste of money. Starting to make a lot more sense going to rebuilds or gliders.

The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

I can't speak for Mayfield but we do average at that number or higher with our dry vans. We may not be the typical operator at Panther, as we do things a little different, but those are the numbers. We provided our fleet numbers collectively and by the truck at several of the EO workshops were...

    Re: Going Broke

That is probably true. The rates currently are about the same as they were ten years ago. This is even recognized by the industry at large and why (or at least in part) you see them going to flat rate tractors. Look how many dealers stock reefer straight trucks now. Virtually none. That isn't by...

    About Leaving FedEx Custom Critical

I guess throwing you out the door early wasn't one of those purple promises. You are right though, there are quite a few on the hunt for a better gig. Have received several emails again this week on just the subject.

    Phil made the jump

You would have a better feel for that since you are there. I am basing my thinking on some that are there (granted with larger trucks) and the loads I broker from them.

    Phil made the jump

We haul quite a bit of their stuff and yes, it is decent rates when we do. Phil should do ok once some of the agents know him. Should be the same or better money without all the game playing and goofiness.

Yep, Bluzman must have stole all the high dollar freight that the others can't seem to find.

Don't need to convince me. I still haul their freight. But you better go save Phil before he gets his signs off the truck.

I just found it entertaining that two dreamy millionaires are a little late in trying to save the ship. Still might be a little time left.

    AC question

Could be a couple of things, but most can be eliminated by the process of elimination. You know the compressor is working if parts are freezing. That is one. At idle or moving slow, is the engine fan running? If not, that would likely be a air leak. It must draw air over the condenser to...

    Perfect Time

There are still "some good ole hands" out there, but it seems like there is fewer of them. But, I don't drive everyday so I am going by more of what people tell me. I don't think it died, but perhaps did change in many ways.

    Perfect Time

One thing for sure in the nineties it was a much different business. Not sure on "perfect" as mention the lack of communication and some of today's comforts. However, money was flowing, cost were a fraction of what we see today with essentially the same rates. The other item is community and...

I have used them occasionally to supplement a load on the truck. Mostly ltl but some actually has pretty decent rates. Like Moot, we book them through Panther. Panther drivers have access to their freight either through a broker or their website.
