    Hino Trucks...

I have to agree with simon. Pete330, KW300, or Sterling Acterra are the only ones that use alot of class 8 parts. Usually a pretty good bang for the buck. Waiting lists are starting to get a little long.

    New to the Gig

Should have no problem in my opinion. It is the busy season and one could find loads out of FL. In a worse case senerio, you would have to deadhead to SC or GA. You will do fine with 3 weeks on and 1 off. Don't expect to be home every weekend.

    clink (computer) vs pager

That is a new one. I have never typed the words "TRAFFIC" in to get a pick-up time changed? I don't know Oldtimer? Between "ghost drivers", pagers, and turning off the qual-comm, I bet you company is so glad you are one of their drivers.;) I would think if you have the experience you say you do...

that is a surprise! I think his intentions are good. I would explain to him that the problem is related more to there dealerships and part networks. Better yet, refer him to this site so he can see some of the posts regarding them and maybe make some corrective changes.

    Seminars, orientations, and coventions

You are in a tough part of the country in regards to expediting. Your best bet is to see if you can make plans to attend ExpediteExpo in Woodhaven Mich. I believe it is the 6-8 of August. You can visit all the companies at the same time. The only other place maybe in July in Iowa. There is a...

    Canada Shipments out of Canada

Yes you will need a broker. If you are buying from different people you can still run all your stuff through the same broker. In addition, I would call Canadian Customs to make sure you know exactly what you are doing. Certain items are treated differently in regards to tariffs ect. They should...

    clink (computer) vs pager

Would it not be easier to use a cell phone with paging capabilities? 50 or 60 bucks would provide you with nationwide coverage. Depending on your C-link; you can turn your ignition switch on and then off quickly, and that will turn the power off except for the dome tracking. I do this and don't...

    Financing for newbies

Financing for new trucks is becoming exstremely difficult for any newcomers. Mant opt for a lease/purchase or owner financing on a used truck. In addition you might find certain dealers to finance you but you must be cautious as they may have the truck priced way over what it is worth. They...

    trucks

The Freightliners we have owned in the past were nothing to get excited about. I only have experience with the FL70 & 80's. You will have to read some of the posts on here relating to the M2's. As you stated, we had many part availibility problems. While I am sure there are some good dealers...

    Fuel Systems

I always wonder about some of these claims that any of them make. Some of them seem like snake oil. There are specific tests by the trucking industry and none of them have passed or taken these tests. They use independent labs ect. One can achieve any result they want under these conditions. And...

    hometime

I think you could run as a team or a single as long as one understands that your revenue will drop during the period you run single. Your ability to get home will depend on where you live. The upper midwest of course being the best. We live in Florida and usually go out for 3 weeks and take a...

    Three axle Rig

I think alot of that question rests with which carrier you are going to drive for. While it may give you more opportunity in certain areas for freight, you have to weigh that against the extra costs that come with it. My personal experience is that it doesn't warrant it. That additional axle...

Does anyone have a fax machine in their truck?

If you have wi-fi and the fax software on you computer you can send it that way as well. If it is scanned documents, then you will need a machine for that as well. Like sending BOL ect.

    "AUX. AXELS #2 "

It still sounds like they are in the high revenue collecting mode. They stopped us last week and thought our license plate was located too low in the back. No ticket...just harrassed alittle.
