    staying out longer

I get more rest staying out - so many relatives act like I live out of state, and should visit them when I'm home, sometimes I have to sneak in and out. ;)

    memorable roads

'Tude, your photos are, as always, breathtaking. [The second one in the Dragoon Mtns post is just gorgeous!] Cynthia doesn't seem too thrilled with the 'kisses', lol, but what a great experience it must have been, nonetheless. :)

    Fuel Surcharge & Carrier Obligation

Call it by whatever euphemism you/they like, it's still unethical, IMO.

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

Just because you know some of the facts about one person, [and you don't know all the facts] doesn't mean the whole group is the same, does it? You think everyone on food stamps [or even most of them] is a lazy person? Because your niece is a worthless bit of trash, everyone who collects food...

    Garden Corner 2011

You'll have to excuse me if I don't run right over, if I'm in the same parking lot and hear a lot of screaming, ok? Because I don't carry any protection, you know. [A joke - I was chatting with English Lady & her husband Tony the other day, and she said she worries about going around alone after...

Does not. You said so yourself, in your first reply, did you not? Juju: have you tried Preen, for weed inhibition? I liked it a lot, and Preen Plus has fertilizer as well.

Ohio State Police withholding Michigan CDL.

To me it seems inconceivable that one could lose their license for one accident, especially when one is rearended - there are drivers convicted of multiple DUIs who don't lose their license! How on earth did that happen over what sounds pretty minor? I mean, you didn't leave any details out...

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

The biggest and wealthiest have gone far beyond exploiting tax loopholes, they've distorted the entire premise of the tax code. For example: establishing a 'presence' that consists of a bank account in a foreign country in order to claim it as a 'base'. Creating 'shell companies'. Creating...

The chemical name for aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid - how could an acid reduce acid? [I know Italians who put a pinch of sugar in the tomato sauce to do it]. It makes no sense.... Don't care what the experts say about avoiding foods [I have ADD and Reynaud's], it bothers me more to...

    Fuel Surcharge & Carrier Obligation

You may be amused at the ways honest people get cheated by those who will do it, but I'm not. I don't cheat the carrier for whom I drive, and I expect the same in return. Is that asking too much?

    Newbies beware! Law of Morons

Lisa: speaking strictly for myself, I can't type the same things over and over again, and why should I? How many times would you do it? Some have replied to the newbies questions in exhaustive detail, only to see the same question a few weeks later. Making others feel inferior isn't the reason...

    Fuel Surcharge & Carrier Obligation

That 'operations person' is blowing smoke - passing along a surcharge collected for fuel to the person paying for fuel does not an employee make. The law doesn't require all the surcharge be passed along [efforts to pass it have failed] but IMO, it is an ethical obligation - keeping any of it...

TA Ontario Ca, New Rules and fees

While I was getting coffee at a Pilot yesterday, I noticed a flyer on the wall, appealing to potential job applicants - one thing that struck me was the fact that "Pilot has paid out 13 million dollars in bonuses last year" and not a single location [that I know of] charges for parking. Maybe...

TA Ontario Ca, New Rules and fees

Linder: thanks for the info - I didn't know that a fuel slip from another TA [within a few days] would suffice, I assumed it has to be from the one where you want to park. It's good to know, because sometimes, you just can't arrange to get fuel at a particular place for the parking.

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

The more companies and persons take the self centered 'it's all about me' approach, the worse shape the country is in. Those who can afford to hire professionals [necessary in most cases] to find the loopholes and advise on strategies ARE stealing from those who do pay taxes. The nonpayers...

    "Atlas Shrugged"

Thanks, Chet - I'm going to put that on my Audible Wishlist, so I don't forget to order it. I read both 'Atlas Shrugged' and 'The Founbtainhead' many years ago, and I guess I didn't 'get it', now I want to read [or hear] them both again. Well, maybe - the world is scary enough already - do I...

Business tax cuts don’t spur more capital spending, study shows

The point is that whatever they [corporations & businesses] do with the additional money reaped from tax cuts, they DON'T create more jobs, which is the main argument used for them. The article is from Canada, but the arguments are the same here: tax cuts for job creation. Without jobs, what...

A Natural High When Driving a Truck; Do You Get it Too?

84 through Oregon, along the Columbia River, and US 93 along Flathead Lake in Montana - just breathtakingly gorgeous scenery, all the way. Views like that keep me loving what I do. :)
