    Places you won't wait

We stay at the Petro in West Memphis all the time. We park our ST in the front lot and have never had any problems.

    Kohler 3APU

Is anyone using the Kohler 3APU? It looks to be a simple system that provides air, heat and battery charging. I don't know if it would run a block heater or supply 110v for microwave, etc. Here is a link to the brochure. Kohler Power: 3APU-12V-HC: 3APU-12V-HC: 3APU-12V-HC: Idle Reduction...

    Replacing batteries

I found Interstate 1010 batteries on sale at the TA in Richmond, VA for $99 each. With the help of another FedEx CC O/O and EO member we changed them out in the parking lot in about 30 minutes. (He actually did most of the work, so again many thanks):) Total cost for 4 batteries $419:D

Why does it work for some?

We are doing fine at FedEx. Been at it for 19 months now, 5 months as O/O's of a D unit. Still learning everyday and still making mistakes but making money and paying the bills. Still learning where to sit and where not to go unless it pays really well. I think a lot of people give up and quit...

Panther & Expeditors Services. Why so slow?

We as drivers would call every week asking for permission to have a PM done. Then be told to wait another week because they were out of maintenance funds. As drivers we would not pay to have there truck maintained. We did our pretrip inspections including checking the APU and reefer. We would...

Panther & Expeditors Services. Why so slow?

When we drove for ES our only complaints were maintenance issues. Worn out tires, broken reefers, skipping PM's and plugged up regen systems on the CAT C13. We were always able to contact someone at ES 24/7 to get the problem resolved and our pay was always correct to the penny. When we...

    Dry Runs

Whats the record for dry runs in one day? We had 2 today. Run #1 North Carolina to New York. Run #2 South Carolina to Arizona. I had to check the calender to make sure it wasn't Friday the 13th.

    Countdown to MATS

I won't be able to go unless I get lucky and have a load into the area. Just spent all my time and money having a new clutch, flywheel and pilot bearing installed, $2944. If anyone has a chance to look over the battery powered HVAC units on display I would appreciate a post on them or a PM...

    Adding a tag axle question?

Does that mean your truck scaled at 27000 pounds before the lift axle? I am considering a 20000 pound lift axle addition. My truck is double framed and has 450HP, so I know it can handle it. Are there ever any loads from FedEx that require that much capacity or do they stop the D's at 13000K...

Assignments or Accept and Decline offers?

If there were a limit on the deadhead miles, say 20% of the total run, I would choose number 2. 500 total miles, 100 deadhead and a 400 mile run. No problem. Keep me moving and I'll be glad to tell you in advance when I need a break.

    Battery Powered HVAC

I have talked to Espar of Michigan and they will be installing my heater when I get up near them. I am really interested in the Climacab system by Glacier Bay as it seems to be more efficent and more powerful than NITE. More expensive too. I am also really interested in the ones in the Crete...

    Battery Powered HVAC

I asked it in the General forum as I thought the replys might be of interest to all members, not just those that are interested in technical issues pertaining to a specific vehicle. I for one really have no interest in the charging system of an E350. As Expediters we all have to deal with the...
