    Adhesive Capsulitis

Any ideas for eye/brain exercises? I need them. At first read I thought the title of this thread was adhesive catapults. Thought it was a new way to unload a Sprinter.

    Thoughts on this pay scheme.

To answer your Q's Greg, I didn't sign a non disclosure agreement, I just don't think it's right to slander them or disclose a private meeting. It's not important anyway...if a newbie like myself reads the post, the message is the deal stunk. I didn't want anyone to fixate on who the carrier...

    Thoughts on this pay scheme.

So, after going through the motions here is what it turned out to be, this is how it was presented to me....I have not added any opinion. The carrier asked me to come in for an interview, during which they presented the following, Last 6 months avg paid to a similar truck (C unit), worked out...

    Re: Failures

My Dad taught me these lessons, If your going to do it, care about the job your doing Never think you are smarter than anyone else, but try as hard as you can to be smarter than everyone else and shut up about it LEARN, the more you know the easier it is to spot someone or something that...

    Thoughts on this pay scheme.

It sounded fishy to me and the initial details were sketchy. I'm going to go through the motions but stop short of committing and see what the deal is and report my findings here. It might turn out to be OK but I highly doubt it. No harm in checking it out and if it is a scam, maybe someone...

    Thoughts on this pay scheme.

Responded to an add in the paper looking for expedite drivers (C&D units). Now I haven't got all the details yet but, the brief outline I got was that I would be paid 50% of the NET. I'm assuming they mean profit. The fleet owner pays for everything and then splits the remainder with me. Like...

    Freight Securement

Trailer dealers (like Wabash or Utility etc.) will carry them. Likely cheaper than a truck stop.

Bad news on expenses and profits!

93 cents for fuel?? At $3.50 a gallon that would equate to 3.77 mpg. The oldest, squarest cabover going 75 MPH would do better than that.

Canada Where is home base for you?

I'm going to be getting into this by late spring and I was wondering where most of the Canadian guys call home. I live in Kitchener, is there much freight here or is it primarily Mississauga or Windsor way? Trying to budget how far I'll usually have to deadhead to get home.

    Trk won't turn off

4300 is multiplexed. key switch tells body computer to turn off a relay that will then shut down the fuel. Should be able to pull a fuse (panel is under hood on left side) or a relay, some are behind the panel in front of the pass seat (big panel that has "International" written on it. Pulls...

    FEDEX Slashes Earnings Forecast

Fedex Corp FDX shares fell as much as 5 percent, touching their lowest level since early 2006. FedEx AP FedEx cut its earnings forecast for the current quarter, citing higher fuel prices and weaker demand for less-than-truckload shipments. Both FedEx and rival United Parcel Service Inc said...

    A Good Roadside Service?

Don't know if Fleet Net America will take O/O's but I used them at one fleet I was at, they were pretty good. Bridgestone has a breakdown service (does more than tires). There is a company called CDI that is really good. They would do anything. They even found lumpers for me to transfer a load...

The Costs and Benefits of Large Sleepers

So far this thread has accomplished 2 things for me; 1) My brain hurts. 2) I now have about a dozen more questions I need to answer before I can tell myself "Yep that's what I need to buy" Don't know if education or discussion (both?) was the starter for all this but it sure made us all think.

The Costs and Benefits of Large Sleepers

Maybe a bit off topic but, what if you bought that daycab, had a big bunk put on (like an ARI Legacy etc.) and then took the bunk off and put it on your next truck too? Spread the cost over 2 trucks (10 years maybe).
