Canada Canada Speed Limits, Are You Concerend?

All you need is a device to program your trucks ECM (the 'puter that runs the engine). Depending on what engine you have these programmers are available from a few places and can cost anywhere from 500 to 3000 dollars. Some can be found on e-bay. If your engine is older you might be able to find...

    Microsoft Streets and Trips?

Mother Fed makes no recommendations nor offers for sale or rent any GPS device. We as independent contractors are left on our own to solve this urgent issue, I almost cried from the stress:rolleyes:. Now that that is said, (and my pom poms are safely stowed) I have used both and found the...

    Email Idea

I'd think to stay healthy that there would be an ongoing purge of say the worst 10% or so, if normal attrition doesn't do it. Hopefully they don't take too much stock in someone from the public phoning in to complain about an on-road action. It's just too **** easy for people to get ticked off/...

    Oil and Filter Change Intervals

You could do some oil analysis and extend your drain intervals, that would save you some money. There is no sense in not changing all of the oil filters, otherwise you run nice fresh oil through the old crud in the filter. You could likely get away with not doing the water separator BUT...

An Expedite Upset in the Making?

I do know that TST does a lot of E-1's Canada work, a TST driver told me they do all of it, not sure on that but he had no reason to boast, and I've had an E-1 driver say the same. I heard it at a truckstop so it has to be true.........right?

    Options - Help!

OP 3 will provide more opportunity if you are willing to put in the extra effort to juggle it all. When you decided to buy the van and used your years of expedite and transportation logistics experience, what did you base your business plan on, OP 1, 2 or 3? Seems that would be the educated answer.

    Aluminum Oil Pan Rethread

All I know is, the first thing any engine manufacturer tell you is to drain the oil while it is hot. If this is the case (and it is) why would any manufacturer use an aluminum oil pan if the threads were just going to "come out with the plug" because the aluminum pan was hot from the oil...

    Nuvi 465T

Was over on Garmin's site looking around and found this. A Nuvi465T that is for trucks (allows for height and hazmat routing). It also says it has the ful NTTS breakdown directory installed as well as "truck friendly" POI's. Anyone seen this unit for real?

    Where would you live?

For freight, I dunno maybe near Cincinnati? If I had to stay in Canada for freight, I'd stay right here in Kitchener, close enough to most FX freight. If I didn't have to work, Bristol TN. I just like it there.

An Expedite Upset in the Making?

That's a good point, which might make one think that my second reason may be the real one? Who knows, it's all about the "Enhanced Expedite Footprint" which Phil is in pursuit of right now. Google is running slow so he must really be workin it;).
