An Expedite Upset in the Making?

It should be interesting. Did they buy the customers of the carrier or...did they buy access to a group of owner operators who are used to running cheaper than the ones they currently have. Wonder what the real motivation was?

    Email Idea

The current text service will only tell you that there is a load offer on the C-Link and what number it is, nothing else. It also only works if you are "C-Link YES" status.

phone SMS text message load offer

That format would be really cool, it is the information most of us usually want anyways. If you wanted more than that, you could go look at the C-Link or call the VRU. Great idea!!! Wonder how hard it would be to implement?

You're not welcome at the Tampa J

I was wondering how long it would take to ban the vans from all that fancy new pavement out front. Place is still a dump.

    Aluminum Oil Pan Rethread

They almost always mess up the threads putting the plug back in the pan. Fine thread steel plug into soft aluminum that does not offer enough resistance when you cross thread it, by the time they figure out "sumthin don't feel right" its too late. Fumoto's are one of the best things you can do...

    Eaton Auto Shift Temps.

With the proper synthetic oil, anything under 250 will be fine. Normal is usually between 160 and 220 depending on load and outside temps.

Andy Ruiney Visits a Flying J

When you read this, just think of it as the long suffering "60 Minutes" curmudgeon. 60 seconds reporter Andy Ruiney visited a truckstop the other day, here is his report. Did you ever wonder what it would take to make a better truckstop. I was at the Flying J in Montreal the other day. In...

    More Home Time?

For a lot of folks, there are costs to staying out and not being busy. If I can deadhead home for less money than it will cost me to sit I will. Someone wise always told me if you can get home on a tank of fuel, do it.

    Email Idea

You get that too eh? I'd say 20% of my loads I don't get a call back saying I got it. After 20 mins passes I will log in to the extranet and find out that way that I got the load. Odd. Hopefully when FX upgrades the Qualcomm's there will be options opened up!

    Email Idea

It's a cool idea but I bet the speed of email sometimes would be a reason the Fed might not like it. Sometimes e-mail just takes to long, would you then have guys complaining about missed loads because AOL or whoever was a bit slow that day and the load took 20 minutes to get to you. I wish...

You're not welcome at the Tampa J

Odd, I had the exact opposite happen to me this morning in Montreal. I was out back in the truck lot. There is a small gravel lane that runs 50 feet from the lot to the base of the sign. I parked there in an effort to gain more internet signal (it worked). So, I'm not taking any truck spots, I'm...

    cargoMAXX

Did a little more digging, this is NOT the van from Vision we have seen, this thing is BIG! From what I saw, this unit is as big as the biggest Sprinter. It looks like it is a longer wheelbase than the long wheelbase vans from GM, and the body is all custom, not just a roof top. I haven't seen...

Vision does a real nice job with their units. Hopefully they come out with a longer one, 15-16 ft behind the seats.

    Canada 2005 E 350 v8, 6, or chevy please help

If the Chevy is a diesel it's either a 6.6 or 6.5 L diesel. The 6L is a gasser. If its a 6.6 it will be a Duramax and should have nameplates on the door that say Duramax, I can't remember what year the vans switched from the 6.5 to the 6.6. The 6.5 was a good engine and got great fuel mileage...

    Canada 2005 E 350 v8, 6, or chevy please help

Whatever you do, stay away from the Ford 6 l diesel. The Chev gasser would be a good starter van. Cheap to fix and it will get reasonable fuel mileage if you drive it right. If you have your heart set on a diesel Ford, the 7.3 is a good reliable engine. The 6.0 was a disaster and the new 6.4...
