    How is everyone doing?

Higher fuel prices increase my DH cost. When you have to cross the fence each time, DH is a significant part of your costs even if FX has a good DH structure, you just gotta go farther to get freight, or sit forever waiting for a Canada load to drop out of the sky wherever you are. No big, just...

    Truck has be castrated

I think the carrier forums should be off limits to folks not working for that carrier. Case in point, I went to start a thread in the FXCC forum about a letter being sent out to FXCC contractors. About halfway through typing I realized that I would be posting company information on a public...

    M2 /w ISC + 3200 - 3.90 too tall ?

It's a tad tall but not a deal breaker. You just have to get used to it dropping into 5th when you climb a good hill. 5th is still OD and still a locked T-converter so you will be ok, it will give you nice mileage on the flat lands!!

    Decent place to buy batteries?

A lot has changed with the Alliance brand in 10 years. Freightliner learned their lesson about selling cheap parts (which cost them $$$$ to warranty). Funny how FTL only learns when it costs them a chunk of money! Penske up here uses them as standard equip (the AGM's made by Deka). Lease...

    Decent place to buy batteries?

They may be expensive, but the Freightliner (Alliance branded) AGM batteries are made by Deka/East Penn. Not to many batteries on the market better than theirs. Turtle can chime in with the real reasons but ya get what ya pay for!

Speed Limiter Experience Direct From Canada

If I ever run into you Joe, I'll be sure to buy you a 65MPH approved beverage, if we meet in Kentucky or some place that puts "7"'s on their signs, you'll have to buy, being from Ontario I'm not allowed to count past 65 anymore, unless I count in metric. Ever had a Metric beverage? I think Moot...

    Speed Limiter Phone Calls

Yep, used to use the tattletail feature to see if a truck had been tampered with from the way I set it up, it is a great fleet tool! The tattle function will not be used by the MTO as they have no jurisdiction over how often you change it. as long as it is set when they check and it doesn't...

Missing the Point on Speed limiters

You're right Joe, you and I both hate the law and the stupidity behind it. FedEx's decision and how it affects their contractors is an entirely different matter, and to me, how they are proceeding is well within their rights and duties as a business. How the individual contractor responds...

Missing the Point on Speed limiters

Barb, FedEx does have the right to issue policy, FedEx (as your insurer when loaded) does have the right to protect itself and it's customers freight from delay's due to non compliant trucks being fined in Canada, it has a right to protect it's operating rights in Ontario (the CVOR) from being...

    Canada Super Singles / Permit

US legal weights are OK with single tires in ON and QC. Out west I'm not sure of. Michelin (Michelin Canada anyways) has all the latest info available if you phone them, they have the driving force in getting Quebec and Ontario to wake up and realize these tires are a "good" thing. There are a...

www.nexiq.com Prices vary widely depending on what you get and how well the local dealer of these products gives deals. For older trucks, an older Pro-Link or older software package can be used and there are usually some products on E-bay. There is a listing on there today for older software...
