    Fuel Treatment: A Cautionary Tale

The primary lesson is obvious. Don't run out of fuel, better to be a little late then to get stranded. In addition to stopping you can clog up your filters sucking up sediment from the empty tanks. My personal fuel stop is when I am down to a 1/4 tank.

    Hours of Service Concerns

Very true but you have not bought all of the accessories that you mention. The owner of the truck made the investment and hired you(until you fire him) to operate his unit. It may be that he/her is not happy with you doing your tourist thing when times are busy. Dave has a significant...

    Ironic Don't You Think?

Well for what it's worth I recently bought a new Chevy Mailbu and it is a decent well made automobile. Another Moderator bought a Chrysler 300 Hemi and it is one hell of a car. Now the Malibu was assembled in Kansas City but the Chrysler came out of Ontario. But I agree with the original...

White Glove, Backstabbers, GOD's, Snitches, Nice P

RE: White Glove, Backstabbers, GOD's, Snitches, Ni I have been with W/G for over 12 years and anyone who knows me knows that I don't have a "holier then God attitude". I also drive a plain Jane FL70 with a small but adequate sleeper. Over the years I could count on one hand the W/G snobs that...

    Hours of Service Concerns

A Team,Just curious and don't take it the wrong way. You said you were going to talk to FDX safety, recruiters, dispatchers re the HOS rules. I was under the impression that they would only discuss issues with Owner operators or Fleet Owners. I was told that if they allowed drivers who work for...

    pantherII

I am probably wrong on this but the TN DOT told me once that you could carry a gun but it must be unloaded?? So keep it unloaded with a clip close by. I carry a flashlight that has a mace spray on the other end. Believe it's legal as it's primary purpose is a flashlight.

    Iraqi expediting now hiring

Boy those old Merc/Benz trucks could do it. I had two a 1986, 1117 and a 1991, 1319,somewhat slow but you couldn't kill them. Look at what they were designed to do.I have seen them in Mexico loaded that way.

    FL70 Clutch Prices

A couple of years bago I paid about $1800 for transmission work and a new clutch. The transmission was locking up in 6th gear so since they had to pull it I went ahead and had the clutch replaced. The clutch was only about $350 but it's the labor to pull the transmission out that will get you...
