Me and my dad got a call from our o/o saying we needed to be at orientation on wednesday ( were in fl orientation in ohio) he called us monday afternoon.

So got a rental car drove it to chatanooga,tn and met a couple with our o/o truck, so we had to drive his truck up to orientation, oh boy let me tell you what an ordeal, both of us are new to truck driving and the truck was a super ten...we couldnt shift the thing!!!after repeated phone calls to our o/o asking how to shift it we finaly got rolling, to make a long story short about our ride up there ( it wasnt pretty had to come to a stop a couple of times because we couldnt figure out what gear we were in) but we did it.

Our truck is going to be a fl70 7 speed spicer, o/o says you double clutch that tranny, which i know how to do. Pantherii seems like a great company I dont know why everybody dogs them. all the way up from florida i saw more panther trucks on the road than conwaynow which they say conwaynow is way better ( whatever) there was a couple in orientation that quit conwaynow that went to pantherii...

Microsoft streets with gps locator..omg what a great program ran it all the way up to ohio its awesome i would suggest to everyone who is an expediter or plans to be one get that program with the gps locator..
kinda tired from orientation so thats all for now, again thanks to everyone who gave me tips and information, having a great time right now with my dad and cant wait to start rolling see you guys on the road...

Good luck on your new venture. Either of those transmissions are easy to shift once you get used to them. Once you reach a point in which you can float the gears, you won't use the clutch except when you start and stop.

A light touch with the right hand and the right foot. Trying too hard is the most common problem with someone learning. The low gears require very little fuel pedal.

Go easy on the Spicer 7 speed, they do not have a good reputation for holding up when getting beat.

The same can be said for the Spicer 6 speed. Neither has the durability of an Eaton/Fuller gearbox. I've rebuilt too many Spicers for this incarnation!
