    fedex fleet

Mr Fedex is 100% correct, overall fleet size means nothing in the long run. What counts is your fleet and can your carrier keep YOU busy. There are many small Mom/pop carriers that can dispatch you out on a trip but cannot get you a backhaul whereas the larger carriers with large fleets can and...

Panther ii Has 500 Trucks Refusing To Work?

Well I will add my 2 cents in to this thread. Several years ago I was coming through Bakersfield CA and was listening to a PBS Radio program( Thats right PBS) and the topic was Shell Oil in Bakersfield wanted to double the size of their refinery. Within 2 weeks of their announcement 147 lawsuits...

    medical insurance

Stay away from Mega Life, their agents lie and deceive you. I was enrolled with them for a while, agent said $2,000 deductible,OK but he didn't say it was $2000 deductible per occurrence., I along with probably many others assumed it was a calendar year deductible. OOIDA has some decent plans.

    Snow Chains

Different States have different rules, best to contact the States Dot that you are interested in. I carry a set, have never put them on and don't plan on learning how. If you need to put chains on,best to stop unless it's a real emergency. I run a 6 wheeler and was told by the California DOT that...

    1st Week Of New Hours

I operated solo and had some difficult times with FDX dispatch offering me trips that I could not do due to the 14 hour rule. They did not seem to be aware of the changes.

    Dollys

You probably have excess grease inside the gear boxes. You can take the covers off and clean the excess out. In the winter time too much gease will give you a dislocated shoulder. I just keep a light film in the gear box and WD 40 the legs.

PANTHER II 900.00 A MONTH TAKE HOME??

Who did you call? Was it a Panther recruiter or a fleet owner that has trucks leased to Panther. No company gives you a moicrowave and a tv,but a owner may equip his units that way to make you time on the road somehat more pleasant. As DD said you need to go do some research on the whole...

    Box Floors

Last Monday I delivered in Raleigh NC and the F/Lift used weighed about a Zillion pounds or so. It has those small front steel wheels, battery powered and could probably lift the whole truck. Anyway the front wheels went through the box floor right over the rear wheels. The driver got it out and...

Kinda Funny if you Think About it.

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't a Sprinter go about 10,000 miles between PM Service? Looks like it would work out even with a gas vehicle.

Got Ripped off and do not want the same to happen

RE: Got Ripped off and do not want the same to hap When I go to Canada and need local currency I go to an ATM and get what I need at the offical exchange rate. Hotels and reataurants will impose a transaction or service fee. I always keep $ 20-30 in Canadian currency with me for the times you...

I don't think the word contest is appropiate as this is basically a incentive progam..

    Van (B Unit)

Van team revenue seems to run in spurts while D revenue is more consistent.

    T-val

It's called temperature validation. You need a reefer box outfitted with temperature probes that then transmit through your Qualcom into the carriers computer and the customer can then check on the temperature staying the same throughout the trip. Kinda expensive to buy, install, test and get it...

    FECC Contest - PITIFULL !!!

The contest pays 25 trucks $10,000 for a payout of $250,000. Last year they ran the same contest twice with only 10 trucks winning $50,000. apeice. So it must pay off for the company. What you do is up to you, there is no coercion, however if it was getting toward the end and you still...

    Forklifts in the Van Body

Put a couple of loadlock bars across the back and this way Eviel Kenevil on his f/lift can't get in until the bars are removed. However I am like Leo and prefer the roll up door and keep it locked until I am on the dock. Always check to see that the F/Lift will fit height wise. I have had...

    FECC Contest - PITIFULL !!!

They did the same hing last year and it was geared torward E units not vans or straight trucks. Teams suffer the most as they have the hours to be elgible for junk loads. I remeber getting load offers with 300 miles of deadhead for a 120 mile trip.x( x(

    2000 Kenworth T-300

The other day on the Dave Nemo show someone called in to ask a question about his Cummins C. He had 1 million 120 thousand on it and it still used no oil. I also have a Cummins C,won't say the mileage as it will come back to haunt me but I also use no oil,do PM's every 10-12,000 and think it is...
