Yes there are I believe they are also the most successful folks in our business I have some great fleet owners that pay thier drivers on time every time. They also seem to attract to better drivers in the industry as well because they have built that reputation. Makes my job easy when...

Should driver film or record all encounters with shippers and receivers?

I think this is apples and oranges IMO. Taking a picture of a product to show it's condition prior to shipping is different then filiming an encounter with an individual. A shipper or consignee can be a pain in the rear for sure (some are great to work with let's not forget that). They can...

Should driver film or record all encounters with shippers and receivers?

Customers make mistakes too, it happens in this business. Maybe they were told the wrong info? I find the whole idea of filming the shipper creepy! Who does that? If you can't work it out with your customer over the phone and email like normal people chances are they are not worth working with.

Those are few and far between, when we get those we tend to give them to the carriers that do a good job consistently. Demaris is one of those companies.

    International Prostar Maxxforce 13

Into the higher gears, though, you have to use the governor. Not out to the full governed rpm - I don't think I went over 1500 rpm except by mistake because the engine is so quiet. But you have to give these big-bore MaxxForce engines full pedal if you want the full power and performance. For...

    hiring on with C&M ....

Being carriers are getting paid 30-90 days from submitting the invoice it's a better way to manage cash flow. Some ops complain about a hold back, but when those settlement checks are rolling in over 4th of July shutdown and X-mas and New Year when the truck sits and your not generating revenue...

    International Prostar Maxxforce 13

Anyone running these new Maxxforce motors? How are you doing with the fuel economy? How's the reliability? Specing out a few semi trucks right now, I see a lot of companies going to the Internationals. I have always done well with Freightshakers, the Cascadia drives like a pick up truck...

Expediting Companies with their own Fleet Straight Trucks

Your best bet are self insured carriers that may be able to place you with a fleet owner. Insurance requirements typically require you to have some verifiable experience.

    Sprinter Owners

I have only owned big trucks my whole career. I have always toyed with the idea of getting into sprinters, but most everyone I talk to tells me a sprinter has a short lifespan in comparison to the larger trucks and were not made for OTR applications. Spending 35k on a vehicle that will only last...
