I just had my physical. I was kind of worried about it, given all the changes I had heard of. But it was the same old physical. Had my neck measured the previous physical, but not this time.

    Why no celebration?

Why? Because AGW is pure unadulterated BULLSPIT. It wasn't just false, it was a hoax from the beginning, designed, like everything else in politics, to transfer both wealth and power from those that have it to those in power that want it. Though, LOS's kabillions of years time frame might be...

That's fairly recent. The FMCSA lags behind. I'm betting it will take quite some time--years or even decades--for the FMCSA medical regs to catch up. And they're still only taking about raising the bar for when medications become involved. They still call 120/80 normal for adults regardless of...

At least that's just once every couple years. What's worse is applying restrictions over and above what the FMCSA lists as the restrictions, because you never know what they could add next if they get away with this one. The medical community has talked about again redefining normal BP, this...

I think that's one reason Congress stepped on them. Not only was this done absent proper rule making procedure, but they really can't even quantify the problem they're purporting to use to financially enrich the medical community, er, I mean, the problem they're purporting to solve. And know...

The desecration? What if they leave it up to the discretion of the doctor to disqualify those with brown eyes? The FMCSA doesn't allow it as a disqualifying factor. As Turtle pointed out in another thread, the medical/sleep industry wanted to make it one but Congress rejected their attempts.

Anybody hear if OOIDA is weighing in on this? I would think they'd be interested in notifying congress that an agency of the executive branch is doing an end run around them this way, imposing a regulation that's not a regulation after they've already said the regulation can't be imposed in its...

Falls into the category of "You know it, and I know it, but tell that to..." In this case, doctors, and drivers who have been sent for mandatory sleep studies as a condition of getting their medical card. I can hear it now: "Doctor, have you been sued yet?" "What do you mean?" "For applying...

It won't be money well spent for the driver who wouldn't run over anyone without spending it. Also, keep in mind that the $100 or whatever it is is just for the physical. If a driver is caught in the sleep study/CPAP scam, we're talking thousands, not hundreds, all for something he may not...

That's hardly an expediter's schedule. Closer to regular long-haul, but even most of them aren't doing that. There's not enough freight out there now to run like that, but expedite has never been like that. More like sit for a couple days, napping frequently to stay rested, then running like a...

I doubt he could shoot. Right before he was fired, he was given a proficiency test, part of which was to see if he could keep the muzzle pointed downrange at the target while moving, going over obstacles, etc. He couldn't.

I'll have to watch it when I'm in a quieter environment and can hear it. But speaking of keeping such fitness standards for cops... That cop worked in a town in which I once lived. He was fired for being so out of shape, but the union got him rehired. He's now retired.

Yes, I'm sure there are some personal benefits to an exam you're forced to get, one that's becoming more costly, more burdensome, more exacting in the face of evidence that the underlying bases are inaccurate, etc. Likewise, there would also be similar benefits if the government required us to...

One thing I haven't seen addressed is, what if one is slightly out of compliance-- BMI slightly too high, neck slightly too thick-- so you get the 90-day card, but can remedy that within the 90 days? Do you go back and get a 2-year card then?

So if they send you home with a home sleep study, what prevents you from laying down but staying awake so you don't snore? I don't see how they expect anyone to pass a sleep study at a lab, being monitored in an unfamiliar environment like that.
